Hello All,
We've been a sponsor of the site for roughly 60 days now and I wanted to drop a line to you all and say "hello." We started in the 993, 997 and other 991 forums and have had some great discussions. Hopefully we can continue that here in the GT3/GT3RS and 911R sub-forum.
Please drop a line with any questions you have or PM me. -Nick

Glad to have you here, Nick! I've been a happy user of the 8100 X-Cess 5W40 oil in my GT4 and GT3. Been using this during warranty period, due to the A40 Porsche certification. After the warranty, what could one expect with the 300V or Sport formulations? Are these not A40 rated, due to shortened Catalytic Converter lifespan or any other reason?
Thanks,
Grant

Thanks again for the recommendation from before and glad to hear you've had good results with the X-cess 5W40 in your GT4 and GT3. Understood on the Porsche A40 usage while under warranty; that is definitely the best route to go until the warranty expires.
Now for 300V and Sport, these are not approved by Porsche for many reasons; mainly by choice on our side. Since the Porsche A40 profile allows for full SAPS products (high ash- Zn, ph, Ca, sulfur), the Sport and 300V will have a similar effect on emission equipment as a full SAPS Porsche A40 approved product like the X-cess 5W40. One reason we don't test our motorsport product for OEM profiles is that we know Sport and 300V outperform Porsche A40 requirements in nearly every way so there really is no reason to go through expensive testing etc considering the main market for these products are modified-track dedicated vehicles that have voided their warranty and don't see extensive street use. Furthermore, it is not limited to what Porsche, the API or ACEA requires out of an engine oil so you can get quite exotic from an oil formulation perspective.
As for 300V, it is heavily friction modified to increase power reliably while also utilizing group 5 synthetic ester technology for further power gains, increased engine protection and increased reliability. Moving to our 300V 0W40 or 5W40 will pay dividends in lowering oil temps considerably in Porsche applications (10-15F is the average vs competitor products), provide more power and increase reliability of your engine. Many of our engine partners have also reported up to 25% better engine life since switching to 300V. Here is a quick graph demonstrating the power potential of 300V vs the competition:
To put some of this to the test. Below is an engine dyno test we conducted recently for power making abilities on a Porsche 3.6L (M97) Cup engine:
Motul 300V 0W40: Red Line- +6 HP, 1.2% TQ
Mobil 1 0W40: Blue Line
A lot stands out on this graph but as the engine reaches max power between 6800 RPM and approaching red line, the EsterCore formulation really shines. This is due to it having a much lower traction coefficient. Esters are more "slippery" vs other traditional synthetics. 300V is also heavily friction modified with molybdenum to help with power making abilities and engine protection. Being more "slippery" also yields higher reliability for your engine as well. Over the life of the oil drain interval, esters will also have an extremely strong oil film for maximum viscosity retention (the oil's ability to stay in grade- this will also help with oil pressure consistency) so you will see better oil life over its use and in return better engine life and better engine protection. Many users have been able to extend the life of their "track day" oil changes 3 fold. Lastly, esters also can operate much more effectively under extreme temps and can provide adequate lubricity of temps over 500 F.
I don't have any test data for the Sport product at the moment. As a whole, the Sport is an upgrade vs 8100 and will feature some of the same benefits as 300V but just to a lesser degree. In my opinion, if you're going to upgrade from a Porsche A40 product, just go all of the way as 300V will also outperform the Sport in every way. -Nick

Welcome!
Great products, glad to have you.
Especially brake fluids - there is another post here where your fluids might be the solution for his problem. Track runs then vibrations. My armchair guess is pucks cooked fluid, jump in if you understand the situation

A big thank you for enlisting where I/we can buy your products.
Heard a lot of positive feedback about your oil so I want to try it from the standard synthetic oil Porsche is using.

- 8100 X-cess 5W40: Porsche A40
- 8100 X-max 0W40: Porsche A40
- 8100 X-clean 5W40: Porsche A40
Unfortunatley the OEM (even Porsche) has to consider many factors when it comes to keeping costs in check. Oil and lubricants is one of them and once the car goes into service, the OEM must consider what a consumer is willing to pay for oil changes. If the quality of the product is too high, it impacts many things from the cost of the car to manufacture, to total cost of ownership for the life of the vehicle etc. -Nick

Youll definitely want to stick with the X-cess 5W40 or X-max 0W40. Both are full SAPS oils so they will be higher in ZDDP than the X-clean product. Meaning, higher anti wear protection and antioxidant power. All the 8100 products mentioned will have very low volatility (low oil consumption) characteristics as well when exposed to extreme temperatures vs other Porsche A40 oils. -Nick

I use Sport 5W40 in my 987 track car, and NB miata enduro car, both with good results. I'm sure I'll switch over to a similar higher quality lubricant for the GT3 when it's time for an oil change.
