I agree, Jimmy. Time will tell if this is just a few isolated cases or something more. One of the main changes to the engine was oiling, so we’ll see how well PAG did on it.

Apparently there were a few that were early on that a few of the dealers local to me were being pretty quiet about. Doesn't seem to be a 991.1 gt3 fiasco by any means though.

Yup. I skipped forward at the "dentist segment", skipped forward at the wrapped engine, skipped forward a few more times before I totally gave up.

Can't believe you made it two minutes! I got out after about 30 seconds or so.

Would be interesting if we could get some information

- Did the engines blow on the track or street?
- Were they PDK or manual?
- Were they early production vehicle?
Is it possible the owners did a “ money shift” that caused the engine to blow?

I wonder if this is owner error or manufacturing defect.

I think the guy in the video said he was on the way to his first track event.

When you look at welding of the tank ....its looks like someone didn't know how to weld.

One guy had 260 miles on his when it went. That could be a record.

From what I read, PDK and manuals were affected, some at low speeds and some at high autobahn speeds

If you are serious, i wouldn’t freak out yet. The thing about the .1 GT3 was that the failure was always the same. In fact, besides the finger follower issue i think the only common failure on those cars was the thermostat. Besides that they are pretty rock solid. So before this becomes a real issue we need to have a lot more engines go due to the same problem.

Porsche is certainly analyzing the issue and inspecting the blown engines. I would think they would be more proactive this time around, if action is required.

If it was an early car maybe it was manufactured in Sept 2017 during October Fest.

That would explain a lot
