Hasn't come back on since.
When you pop the engine lid is the car running or off?
Thank you

Here's a related question: When I check the oil after a (long) drive, it reads half way (but still green) and says oil level correct. But when I check the oil after warming up the car and doing a short drive, it reads 3/4 (which is the ideal level).

If the difference between the max/min readout is 1.25 liters, then it seems the disparity I'm seeing is 312.5 ml or 1/3 of a quart.

Should I add a little bit of oil or not?

I’d error on the low side like you are currently.

Ok, so just leave it. That's what I thought since it's easy to overfill and the computer says the level is fine.

Turns out the engine fault was some tank leak sensor they replaced...all seems fine again.

I just got the check engine oil level message as well. Was afraid to drive it so I’m taking the work shuttle. The car only has around 400 miles since new. Should I just fill the oil? Seems too early for that though.

No. it’s fine. It’s not a warning just the car telling you to check the oil level. If level is ok then do nothing. I have 4,000 miles on the car now and after the first 2,000 miles it hasn’t come back on. Check the oil level at every gas tank fill up. Had an oil change after a track day and they said it all looked good.

Sounds great! I'll do that! Hopefully it just goes away after checking it.

wait is it a warning light or is it just a message on the digital screen that says “check oil”?

A notification just popped up that says "check engine oil level" after I started the car; it wasn't a warning. I see the little icon in the screen to the right of the tach, but no warning sign.

Michelin PS Cup 2's are notoriously bad in the wet. MPSS are great in the rain.
