Anyone else notice a slight colour difference with the front and rear PU's to the painted bodywork ?

I have a 2014, low mile white car

With Porsche it is less noticeable but with other manufacturers this is a large problem. It has to do with the materials and the way they paint the cars.

Yes a hint of yellow or a little warmer, very slight. I think I noticed it on another car of a similar age

Different materials, paint lays down differently.

Urethane bumper cover vs. steel quarter panels - the paint will show differently on the different panels. The older generation of M3's were a great example, they had composite fenders and the difference between the doors and fenders was large.

As time goes on, white tends to change hues on plastic/urethane parts. Usually gets yellowish.

Porsche had an issue with the bumpers on the early
.1 991 gt3s that we discussed before on this forum.

Front Bumper Color is Off
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...or-is-off.html

Part of the problem could be that there is an understanding
that Porsche was (and still is) outsourcing the building &
painting of the bumpers on special models like the gt3s.

I took the opportunity back then on that thread to discuss
the issues of QC as it relates to PTS, which also posed a
problem for Porsche during the same time period:

Shortly thereafter Porsche announced a moratorium on PTS for the MY2015 models,
including gt3's. They then researched the problem thoroughly and supposedly fixed
the quality control issues with paint they were having at the external suppliers/vendors
...including those making & painting the bumpers that would arrive at Zuffenhausen
under the 'Just-in-Time' and 'Just-in-Sequence' logistic ballet that rules assembly at
the factory today!

Eventually, PTS was re-introduced. It's believed that the 30 late production '15 gt3s
in 'Signal Green', 'Arena Red Metallic' and 'Fashion Grey' that I covered in a popular
thread two years ago were done for the purpose of making sure that QC on PTS was
solved & PTS could get back on track.

It would be interesting to see if anyone on the newer .2 991 gt3 has any issue of
paint matching between their plastic bumpers & their steel & aluminum parts. If
so, please report it here so that we know.

Saludos,
Eduardo
