Front License Plate Mounting Options

Front License Plate Mounting Options
Since I didn’t want holes on my front bumper, I used one of those tow hook license plate mounts on my 997.2. It looked odd but better than the standard bracket that dealers attach to the bumper with self-tapping screws.
Wondering how others are mounting their front plates.

Try Carbonio
Got this plate holder from Carbonio. Easy to install and very secure. Can mount anywhere on the lower grill and looks better than the tow hook mount I used on my 997.2 GT3.

Burning Brakes
Quite a few of us are going without. Here in Denver, it is only an issue in the event of leaving the car parked on the street (not a moving violation, afaik). If I wanted to use one, I would probably get one here:

I have the US Millworks mount with the quick release. I keep the plate on the floor behind the passenger seat. A couple of pieces of velcro prevent it from sliding around. On a Sunday evening after autocross, a MA state cop pulled me over and asked "do you always drive without a front license plate?". I replied "Sometimes I do. The plate is right here. I can put it on.". Cop says "Don't bother. It looks better with it off."

Same as Mass but we have a "Lost license plate option".....we go to the RMV website, order a new plate because we "lost" one....pay $10 and wait 12-16 weeks for it to arrive.....keep the receipt in the car....rinse and repeat throughout the year....

thats a good work around, but too much work for me. I take the ticket, “mount” the plate to the screen w about 1.89 worth of cheap hardware from the store when I need to pass inspection, and then just take it off right afterwards. I only have to do this every couple of years or so, when I get a real 4ssh0l3 cop...

Three Wheelin'
Got pulled over once by a NJ state trooper for no front plate. Gave me a warning. Depending on the town you live in you may be able to get away without doing one. Not even an issue at inspection. I had it in the trunk of my other car when I got it inspected just in case, but they didn't bring it up.
If you want it for peace of mind get one of the tow hook plates, it's easy to take off when you want to.

Racer
haven't had any problems in NY, NJ, or CT. Back in '08 I used to park my daily driver (with no front plate) on the street outside my apartment almost daily and finally put on a plate. But for the exotics, rarely parking on the streets of NYC, never had any issues (knock on wood)
