2019 Porsche gt3rs. Which seats to pick?
The sport, fixed seats that come standard are cool but seem really uncomfortable, would the 18 way power seats be better (obviously) and not hurt resale? Or can you get used to the fixed seat?

Here we go.... lol
You will get varying opinions: majority likely saying that LWBS make the car and that the GT3RS should only come with buckets as its a stiff sports-car designed for the track, some saying LWBS are uncomfortable so the sofas are better, and some saying just go with what *YOU* want...I don't think any of those 3 opinions are necessarily incorrect
I think that LWBS really go with the full blown racecar look and add to the "event" and special connectedness you get with the car. They were also designed for the $1M hypercar 918 so that's cool to get that "technology" or design in a GT car. That being said, at the end of the day none of us will be taking delivery/driving that beautiful 3RS you will receive, so go with what you want. Sofas definitely have more cushioning for better or worse, easier to get in and out of...
Definitely sit in LWBS and the 18 ways if you can, even better go for a ride in them. Maybe try and find a local RLer in your area who could let you try out either

Definitely go with LWBS if you are orienting the car towards max resale value... but live in the moment, who knows what future holds and we have enough speculators and flippers...enjoy that beast of a car/drive the wheels off
I threw resale out the window once I secured my .2 GT3 allocation, spec'd it exactly how I wanted so that I would enjoy racking up the miles as soon as possible

You should test drive all of them and let your body decide. I've had all the variations offered on the 991. I find the LWB the most comfortable (for me), but the worst to get in and out of. The wife hates them. I think the 4-ways are more comfortable than the 18-ways, but not as supportive for track duty. I recently sold my .1 3RS to my dealer and was told that if it didn't have buckets, I would have received 10k less. I don't buy cars for the next guy, but if resale value is important to you, you should consider this. Maybe LWB's aren't as important to resale on a standard GT3, but I think they are important on the RS because you may find more track guys as 2nd owners.

Thanks, well said.
all things being equal, do people think the 991.2 manual will end up more collectible than the 19 gt3rs??? Really like my manual, drove my 03 gt2 60,000 miles and enjoyed the heck out of it, actually lost not that much after 12 yrs of fun. Maybe the gt3 manual will be the same....thoughts?

Select the "Seat Delete" option.

Three Wheelin'
i have always had 4 way or 18 way sport seats in my 911s and both GT3s; however, if I got an RS I would definitely get the buckets and find a way to make it work. The LWBs are optional except in the RS versions IMHO.

These threads depress the living hell out of me. People that have the ability to get allocation for a new .2 GT3 or .2 GT3RS and all they care about is resale value and optioning it for that specific purpose just makes me sad. If you're looking for an investment, go invest elsewhere and take a hit on whatever option makes you happy but may lose value on your GT3. These cars are meant to be driven hard and pushed, not optioned to sell high for the next guy.

991.1 GT3 used values have shown that bucket seats are vastly superior in terms of resale. Most .1 RS's were specced with buckets, and the ones that aren't are offered a consistently lower prices, all other things being equal. Regular .1 GT3's mostly had 18-ways, but the few with buckets command noticeably higher premiums.
Personally, if you really care about resale, but like 18-ways, I would check with a dealer and confirm if a car with buckets can be retrofitted with 18 ways (I hear mixed responses on this). 18-ways can be purchased readily for $5000 or so. Bucket seats are worth about $10K in the used market, and cost $17K direct from Porsche (as a part order).
