This will probably hold its value the best out of all Audis. First and last RWD R8. Last R8. NA. Limited numbers. Only thing is no MT.

Not only does the RWS lack a front wheel drivetrain, but it also has old-school analog suspension which I expect is the reason it is not reviewed more favorably when compared to the new GT3; PASM and RWS (rear wheel steering) give it otherworldly handling capabilities compared to the RWS (Audi).

The RWS is a very unique car. For those shunning it because they expect it to depreciate...remember it, too, is one of the last NA sports cars, with an arguably more thrilling motor than a flat-6...

I've now read and/or watched several very good reviews of the RWS R8, both in comparison to the regular quattro R8 as well as other cars in the class. I'm tempted to look into picking up one myself, especially if individual paint is available.

I want to see Audi make an R8 V10 Plus RWS.

Probably not gonna happen, but nice to dream a little.

The sort of left the door open for other possibilities with the name - Rear Wheel Series. Series of one? Or more?

I can't seem to get a definitive answer as to whether individual paint is available. Some reviews state you can get only white or black but I've seen photos of the R8 RWS in several different colors. Is there a Yana for Audi?

The US order guide lists the following colors for the R8 RWS: Ibis White, Florett Silver metallic, Tango Red metallic, Mythos black metallic, Daytona Gray pearl effect and Ara Blue cystal effect. It does not mention Audi Exclusive colors. I believe in Canada the choices are Black and White.

Yes, there is Audi Exclusive, not sure who the US contact is.

Last R8 test drive was 2 years ago and I felt it was remarkable that the car could do so much, but it just did not have any edge when driving. Quiet, compliant, capable but feedback was so low on turn in that it lacked connection to me. Exceptional all around car and historically in the top ten for holding resale value but it was mundane to me, deadened my senses. If I had to chose one car for all around then the R8 does that well, but as a single focused canyon carver I just could not see it.

Porsche steering communication and turn in feedback are very hard to beat.

But since we don't know what is in store for the new GT4 (RS?), the RWD R8 is looking like a really good way to go. With this said, this is a weird comparison, because both of these cars will be *very* different.

The OP: Why not just DD the GT3T? I thought that was the whole point of the thing.

That's very helpful, thank you. I thought I'd seen a Nogaro but it must have been Ara. And yes, now I remember it was indeed a Canadian enthusiast who was talking about black/white.

Anyone know if it is difficult to get an allocation at sticker for the R8 RWS? My local dealership is very small and said they may not get one. I joined R8talk to ask this question but the site keeps freezing my computer.
