Default GT Inflations: Is this all our fault?

Are we our own worst enemy? What if everyone just stopped the madness and refused to pay more than MSRP for any car? We aren't benefiting from this inflation if we sell an inflated car and then the next car we want is also inflated, it's just a transfer of inflated cost from one vehicle to the next.

If we all just stopped then we could actually afford to purchase more cars or do other things with our money.

How do we create an anti-inflation alliance?

We can do that provided ALL will do the same. It is supposed to be 100% all in. But that is the good or bad with Capitalism. You can either be on the good side of the bad side. It will be your choice. Nobody can force you.

If you can't afford the ADM then just go make more money. Without ADM, how do you propose some dealers operate their limited cars? Would you rather buy 10 cars from a dealer over a 4 year period in order to get a GT3 at MSRP or just pay $20k with no relationship>

Correct....MOST (emphasize) people that get these cars at MSRP pay the ADM with depreciation in ownership of other vehicles......Most brands play this game....

Bingo - this is how I found peace with my self-loathing at paying an ADM

So true. But there’s no time left after whining on RL all day.

High ADM‘s, more units, Porsche is happy, buyers wake up in 2-3 years when they see the value of the „limited 991 GT car“ ;-)

LOL this is / could be the best thread.

The barn is empty the horses are gone. Habits are hard to break. Porsche and other brands have psychologically pitted us against each other and the marketing is amazing. We all want to be on that team...with that color...with that...GT Car...addiction is contagious.

If no one on this forum is interested in getting a GT car, I predict the inflation and ADM will be at a minimum

It's a self-fulfilling prophesy type of thing - many people buy GT cars ONLY because they are not depreciating or are hard to get, and that in turn makes them depreciate less and harder to get. So no, "we", people who buy these cars to drive and enjoy without looking at them as a store of value or a gambling chip are not at fault because Porsche produces more than enough cars for us. But once half or more of cars are sequestered like gold bars in vaults and the rest is resold by scalpers like rock band tickets because they know demand is bigger than the remaining supply, you have what we have with GT cars now. It's even worse when this happens to houses or other essential things.

Go buy a Porsche Turbo, no ADM.
They sell 21 flavors of 911s with Turbo.

Supply and demand. Euro6 emissions limits have pushed Porsche to Turbos to meet CAFE numbered limits and a demand for NA 911s has risen above supply.
The GT3 is the only way to get a NA 911 engine so demand is soaring.

Counter to your claim of expense, what if the GT3 is starting to look like a bargain? Compare how much of the GT3 baseline is in the GT3RS and then look at the GT3RS price point w/larger ADMs, then the 991.2 GT3 looks like great value.
