Never owned a trailer myself but seriously considering getting one. I won't tow that much to justify the cost of an enclosed, so open trailer is they way I might go. Is it practical to keep a car cover on if you have an open trailer, or is an air dam/stone guard better?

This is my 22" Aluma, I had a lock box with wheel rack built for it. Excellent trailer. I used my Cayenne GTS to pull it, its probably one of the best pull mules I've ever had.

I don't think a car cover would work while towing. If it doesn't fly off, it will flap around and whip/rub on the paint surface. I find the air dam to be best. Saves the front, and less drag so save gas for the tow vehicle. Here's a simple one that I have:

I like the idea of having a cover not only for protection but also for privacy. I wonder if there is such anything available

Nice setup! I have a new Aluma 18" open. Love the trailer. All aluminum, good quality and rear dovetail makes it a breeze to load. Tow with my GMC Canyon. Like nothing is there, and I get 17 mpg.

I went with the Aerovault. Had my first real drive with it last weekend. About 250 miles to NCM, I usually get about 9mpg with the open featherlight. I got 12.5mpg with the Areovault. I also notice it tow's very effortlessly.
At the event it's nice to sit in, although it's to short to stand in.
You can also keep a extra set of tires and your basic tool in it all the time, you can keep you car in it if you want. Also the LED light are nice.
They are a bit pricey, around 20K.

I have the Futura tandem trailer with the front guard. I tow it with my Cayenne diesel with no issues. My GT3 runs right up the ramp without any issues. Once the trailer is raised the doors can be opened/closed without hitting the trailer wheels. First time to trailer anything and I wanted something easy to manage.

That's what the Futura folks told me. With Cup Car (which sits a little lower), they said I'd need a 18 inch piece of plywood. I'm going to pick the trailer up April 2, and then will try to load the car.

Looks like a great set up but The Futura ad has a cup car pulling right on - what gives with the plywood?

That's what the Austin dealer told me - not plywood (miss typed - 18 inch 2x4). And that's just the Cup. Normal GT3 no issues he told me. I'm picking the trailer up first week and April and then will try to load the car on.

I posted in the other thread / these are in stock with their New York dealer msr autowerks

The tandem is the one I’m getting - I have a deposit on it and will get it in April - they’re At the by auto show this week. Sickest trailer I’ve seen in all my years
