GT3 as a daily driver?

Indeed! Im like you in that im on the road by 630 at the latest so I usually beat traffic, take the long way to work or even the next exit and loop around.
How many people actually look FORWARD to their morning commute? I damn sure do.
Edit: OP, looks like youre a rad onc doc? I assume your days start a little later than mine but I'm sure you can find something to do in the office bright and early haha.

I spend the majority of my drive on well paved and relatively well maintained roads in South Florida. For my back's sake I think 18 ways will be preferred. I have aftermarket buckets in my RSA and after about an hour or so in traffic it gets tedious. Often times, I drive long commutes with the windows or top down (unless expecting a phone call) so I'm hoping the tire / motor noise is in the GT3 is comparable to my 981 boxster--I will try to go for a long test drive. I think the feedback I'm getting from you guys is pushing me forward...

I went from a 997 turbo as my daily drive to a 991 GT3.
I love the visceral nature of it. Yes, it is firmer on the street, but with the occasional track day you won't look back!

I've used my 991.1 GT3 as a daily driver for several years now. Not only is it my daily, it's my only car.

There are only two things in my mind that make the GT3 slightly problematic as a daily driver. One is the low ride height, so make sure you get one with a front lift. The other is that the engine begs you to rev it out every time you hit the gas pedal, so you better be careful how fast you end up going.
Other than that, I found my 991.1 GT3 to be a fantastic daily driver. It's comfortable and has all the amenities you'd need. The suspension is not an issue at all, it's way more comfortable and drives smoother than my stock 997TT did. I'm looking forward to putting thousands of miles on my 991.2 GT3 when it gets here, just like I did my 991.1.
Honestly I think anyone that says the 991 GT3 is too harsh or uncomfortable as a daily must have been driving a different car than I have, because I absolutely don't agree with that.

I daily drove 991.1 with the 18 ways and front axel lift. Wasn't bad. Good storage behind the seats. Issue for me is I need a back seat for the kiddos, so am going back to 991 (50th Anniv.)

Thank you to everyone for their feedback. I drove a 991.1 Turbo S as well as the 911.1 GT3--absolutely love both cars. For what its worth, both cars were agate gray, 2015s, and respectively well loaded. The Turbo S was immediately torquey, had a gorgeous interior, parking sensors, back up camera and better radio...all in all the perfect car to daily drive...but it didn't have that "wow factor." The 991.1 was noisy, stiffer, and made me smile. The PDK in the GT3, for better or worse, nostalgically reminded me a lot of the e46 SMG in a few of its characteristics (literally in neutral when car is stopped, lurches / pounces in stop and go, harder shifts...etc) compared to the more refined PDK in the Turbo that was synonymous to the 981 (I also didn't realize if you pull both paddles in the GT3 then it doesn't drop into neutral?). Again, I don't think the aforementioned are overly concerning to me and I was able to adapt to the driving characteristics of the GT3 during the test drive. The cabin is livable albeit you can hear random motor noises along with the tune of the motor, but I didn't get intrusive drone. I agree with a few of the commentators that the GT3 begs to live in the >5k range and the sound at higher RPMS is addicting. I don't think it would be a problem to listen to music or talk on the bluetooth even at highway speeds. The ride also seemed livable and fortunately roads down here aren't too bad.
Overall, the GT3 was an event to drive and it probably is too much drama for a daily driver--but after thinking about it for the last few weeks and finally driving it, I think I'm becoming more sold on the idea--at least from a romantic point of view. I love the thought of daily driving a GT car, but it feels like a bad idea. I'm going to mull this over a bit more although I'm leaning towards making the move. Decisions, decisions. Thereafter, the challenge will be figuring out how to break the news to my wife...
More feedback is always welcome!
