Probably because it was already covered in 991.2 GT3 video? It's the same engine, just different state of tune (does not really matter if it via software or hardware).

Aero/drag coefficient/downforce/cooling.... tires, TIRES.... diet/unsprung weight/CoG..... firmness/load/etc...etc.. = RS recipe alright.

$64,000 question is- will all this equate to a sub-7 Ringtime? We'll see soon, I hope.

Interesting that the 911R and the 991.1 RS (with side intakes) had 0 hp difference though...

I think the side intakes contribute their real benefit at the top of 7th gear...

Re competition being 200hp ahead, they're not in the same space anymore due to price. They compete with 1RS.

Competition is R8, AMG and i know which is rather have.

The 2RS demand and production is way up - the idea of a turbo track and or being more expensive doesn't bother their customers which speaks volumes.

I don't see how Porsche carries on with 2 track focus RS turbo's - seems a bit odd.

It would have been great if they won the most HP per Liter for a NA engine which I believe was achieved by the Speciale. I know Porsche is conservative in its numbers so may have already beat that figure. The Italians tend to be more optimistic for sure.

I'd be quite happy after RS.2 intro with either 4.0 GT3 manual, Rs.1, or RS.2. Cars seem level on performance for the most part.

More runway for NA/RS : RSR mid engine / aero configuration / RSR shifter / wring out the latent HP in the 4.0

From a very reliable source on Rennteam, the RS will be produced through July 2019 with no particulate filter.

My guess is that they'll keep building RSs into Dec for non-EU countries, similar to what happened with the .1RS.

Porsche is a master of filling every pricing niche (even when there doesn't seem to be room to squeeze in a new one). In this case, there is a big market of GT customers who are not able/willing to stretch to the $300k level...

agree, but also customers that prefer a fairly light NA car. Once all GT cars go turbo/hybrid/heavier, is when I stop buying them.

My curiousity is piqued to know if one could retrofit the springs and sways of the .2 to a .1. Only concern might be the range of the dampers and whether they'd need to be revalved. As good as the .1 is, I have always found it too soft.

Yep, I don't feel drawn to an even heavier turbocharged/hybrid (and presumable PDK only) car either...

I won't say that I won't buy one before knowing the details, but makes me skeptical...

I think the stock PASM dampers would be pretty poorly matched to springs that are twice as stiff. Might be easier to go for the Bilstein Clubsport or Ohlins setups that Mvez has described in his Clubsport build thread.

Not sure if one could entirely change over to the RS's PASM springs and shocks (and whatever software from the RS that is required to use them properly)...

Guys you have forgotten to address OP's concern and question that will this RS not be comfortable for public roads due to the suspension changes? Will ride be too harsh and stiff as compared to 991 gt3 gen 1?
