991.2 GT3 manual concern

Racer
sounds normal to me for a Naturally aspirated-engine car with its trick and bits designed for track use.

Driving this thing at low RPM's would be crazy and a complete waste...unless your're on the way to the track.

OP: The car will not be enjoyable until broken in.

You can still get through 1st-3rd gears on the street at around 5-7k rpms and still have fun. Who drives a GT3 around at 2-3k rpms?[/QUOTE]
i went through a national park twisties on the way home giving it . It's fine between 5-7000 REVS to crack to 9000 red line car is going to quick for the gear and down low it lacks torque . that's all I am saying

Really OP - just sell it. Trade it in for a Corvette or a Turbo anything. I am sure someone who appreciates it for what it is will be happier. Life is too short for me to be reading reviews like this.

I would agree that the car is not its best outside of a track or on streets where you can exercise most of its envelope though (like its home country).

I guess I was expecting more torque and geared not tall so I could row through the gears on the street.
Testy much mate ? God knows what you are like when your partner criticises you?

Sounds like your expectations weren't consistent with the character of the car, because everything you've described is a GT3.

Just kidding my friend - nothing personal. Maybe wrong car for you, or give it some more time and wind it out.
I've had moments like these. I remember buying an Exige S240 years ago and felt so claustrophobic, especially because I had to drive through Manhattan during rush hour at night the day I picked it up. I thought I made a mistake. I spent some time with it and loved it. Anyway, good luck and did not mean to offend you. We GT3 guys just get a little emotional - how could anyone not think this car is great?

looks great. Hopefully you get used to driving it. I had a turbo before I bought my first GT3 so i understand a little of what you are saying. When I drove my GT3, I would find myself riding around in one gear lower all the time so I would see 5000 rpm at normal speeds on my roads. This made for livelier engine response and my smiles. Its nature is a hooligan.
Enjoy. And report back what you find.
Congrats again. Looks awesome.

As others have said, the 4.0L NA engine is just a different beast than the Turbo'd flat-sixes, different strokes for different folks.... just about everyone in this subforum reveres the NA flat 6 but I have the new turbo 3.0L in my C4 and it is really a ton of fun around town. The turbo'd engines might suit you better, no shame in that.
The NA gives you the sound, linear power delivery, higher revs, the turbo'd engines give you immense torque/shove/power from down low, not as great sound, and lower redline...and that's just the engine, ignoring the rest of the GT3 vs. turbo package (suspension, create comforts, etc)
For this amount of money you should be smiling and just enjoying yourself in the car. Life is too short. Maybe give it some more time and see if the car grows on you, but otherwise I would flip it for something you will enjoy and you should do well unloading the GT3....your spec looks stunning BTW

You answered your own question. GT3 touring is a GT3 with the aero chopped off. So not really built for the road much more than a GT3 proper. It’s mostly offered for people who for some reason get overwhelmed by the wing. It sounds to me like the GTS would be a better car for you.

This is the same complaint with the GT4. It's awesome fun having a high revving engine with a peaky torque curve, it's just crappy that gears 1-3 are so long that revving it out to enjoy it means arrest me speeds in the US. Shorter final drive would be nice, shorter gears 1-5 would be better cause then you can shorten the big 1-2 drop, close up the ratios from 1-4, and maintain the 200+mph cruising gear. It might not be faster at the track but it'll feel snappier and more fun at legal speeds...
