Anybody buy or sell a 911R recently?

Just bid the best price for you...if it works, then great! If not, then it wasn't meant to be. It's a reasonable method to try to get the most for an item without "giving" it away if the auction is not publicized enough for a thousand other reasons doesn't attract enough people.

All i know is this, we can debate values all day long, but I’ve just finished driving my 911R after a few months away from it. I’ve driven the new GT3, Touring, GT2 RS, and all I’ll say is give me my 911R all day everyday. You can have the rest! The car is unbeatable, so interactive, so special.
If you can afford to pick up an R, do it, it’s far more “special” than anything else currently available.
Just my .02.

As I mentioned it’s been raining almost non stop here, so I’ve only got to drive her one time for about ten miles (or $5000 )since she got here late last night.
I mean it’s just an amazing car, which I’m sure is no surprise to anyone who has driven one. One of my greatest apprehensions about purchasing it is that I wasn’t a great fan of my 991.1 GT3RS. It’s not that there was anything wrong with it, it’s just that I found it a very frustrating car to own and drive because it was next to impossible to extract any of its potential under street driving conditions. It always felt like the joy was just beyond my reach unless I forced myself to contrive high rpms out of it in unnnatural situations, kind of like taking a jet ski to a swimming pool. I had booked four track days for it to experience it in the only place it thrives, but three of them got rained out and had to back out of the fourth one because of personal reasons. Thus the true nectar was never sipped.
With that experience as a backdrop, I was really curious to see what driving experience a lighter manual 3RS, which is essentially what the R is, would yield.
Well it turns out that a lighter manual 3RS is just about the most perfect and enjoyable driving experience a person could have. The ability to manipulate the rpm range through the manual transmission makes the .1 4.0 enjoyable across every driving situation and changes the car completely from the 3RS. In fact if it wasn’t for the wonderful marbles rattling around the single mass flywheel it's hard to believe that this car is so closely related to the .1 3RS.
Honesty dictates that I have to also disclose that I was a ‘I don’t get what the big deal is with this parts bin car’ guy when it first came out, and now it makes a lot more sense to me. I swear it’s because it’s true and not because I paid for it.
That’s all I got after ten miles.
My .2 GT3 manual is supposed to get here some time in September so I’ll have a chance to lend yet another voice to that tired comparison, so I’m really looking forward to boring everyone with that.
Congrats on the car Soulsea.
I completely agree - it is a such a joy to drive.

some have laughed a lot and bought it 350/400k and over,
now they cry for the
worst depreciating (when bought used) 911GT ever in Porsche history
i would say a kind of Mclaren 911

But but it was a numbered car and last NA manual, right? Opps. Maybe one day people will learn to buy cars to drive and not as investments.

and the GT2RS, GT3s and Gt3 touring's are already trading for sticker only at dealers preowned...whats your point? Its a low point for a TON of cars right now...

Point is to enjoy the cars and no buying them as investments/speculation. GT2RSs, GT3s, and GT3RSs will all be trading around MSRP in 2019 so people should enjoy driving them. I already have my track mods ready for my .2RS off my .1RS, just need to get the car. haha

The sample size of the 911R market makes it very difficult to establish an accurate value for every car.
On one hand one sold for $370k out of pocket at Mecum a few weeks ago, on the other hand you have the one that reportedly just sold in Europe.
And even then it's very option and mileage specific ... higher mile and especially wrong options can make a massive difference in value.
With such a small amount of transactions the market appears to move every time somebody slightly overpays for a car or a seller is in need of cash as firesafes their car.
And without digging into the details of every transaction it's hard to truly know what's happening.
My guess is that it will continue to go back and forth like this for a while with low mile proper optioned cars selling for over $300k and higher mile wrong optioned cars selling below ... god help you if you don't have smfw.
All of this matters more to a short term speculator than if one is in it for the long run ... eventually, as the last NA manual SMFW numbered 911, these cars will be back where they were a year ago and much higher.

I just visited Porsche of Colorado Springs on Wednesday to look at their impressive collection of GT cars. On the floor was a 2016 Etna Blue 911R with yellow stripes and 660 miles that had just sold for $399k according to my sales person. It was signed/offered at $429k. Single Mass flywheel, AC, and front axle lift were some of the options along with a Black and Tarpan brown interior. It was sharp as a razor! It even made my usually disinterested wife swoon a bit.

Andreas said the 991.2 GT3 did not need SMFW new engine made it irrelevant... so much engine and mid range thing just flys up to 9K .. a thing of beauty

i don’t think the whole story has been written yet for the 991.2 engine. Hopefully not something that changes the perception of the “motor sports” engine.

Just "motorsports" problems...

This 911 R had a rare beautiful color ; Etna blue. The color was use in the 60's. Its the only 911R in the USA with the Etna Blue and yellow stripes. Their is maybe is one in europe with white stripes. The blue is nicely set off with the Tarpan interior.
