Default Annoying dash rattle finally fixed!

I've been dealing with an annoying dash rattle for months on my 15' GT3. It only happens when the RPMs are between 3K and 4K. It has been driving me utterly crazy and the whole "because racecar" only goes so far. So last week my PCM unit called it quits. It had to be replaced so I figured to have the dealership investigate the rattle at the same time. Quite unexpectedly they were able to find the issue! I've been super impressed with their writeup of their root-cause analysis. It's clear they went above and beyond to find the issue, so kudos to Porsche of Stevens Creek! See for yourself:

I had an annoying dash rattle as well.

It was finally pinpointed to a loose cupholder, its a shame that they are not a no cost delete

As I read the analysis I was thinking it was going to be the diagonal brace on the firewall that secures the air inlet housing for the ventilation system. That's what was causing my rattle in the 3-4000 rpm range. Anyway, glad they found yours. That kind of thing drives me nuts!

Nice one! You know that each time they were hoping the issue wasn’t fixed - “Guess I’ll have to take it for another test drive...”

Exemplary service!!

My previous '15 had what sounds like the same noise under the same conditions. I did not have the same service as you hence mine was not "repaired". I found a temp fix by inserting my Porsche member card between the bottom of the PCM and top of the center console as it turns vertical (IIRCC ~ sorry for my poor explanation). The noise stopped completely. Anyway, congrats!
