Yes. That GT Silver Touring might look sharper with black wheels and Touring Black. The black makes it a bit more edgy, making up for the more conservative paint color and nature of the Touring.

Looks great either way though.

Can one of you Porsche buffs tell me the year of this 911? Also, is the grille stock? Looks familiar...

Looks like a 1970. Don’t think grill is stock. But I’m no classic 911 buff. Just wanted to guess

See here CR and GR next to each other, and CR looks much darker to me.

Not stock grill. It is expanded metal held on by screws. Some tin snips and a trip to a metal supply shop and you can have one for $10 or so.

100% CR, agree it looks a little bit to light here, iPhone photos not always show reality unfortunately...

As an owner of a Lava Orange 991 GTS, please go black with all trim options. Black Touring package, black wheels, black headlights if possible. I've seen some LO with silver trim and IMO it just doesn't work. There is a reason that they went with Lava Orange as the showcase color for the 991.1 GT3 RS--when you compliment it with enough black trim it just pops and looks phenomenal in the flesh. Any silver bits counteract the effect. As an artist I find it super interesting how Lava Orange has this extreme personality difference from just little trim bits, probably more than many other colors.

To me, that is one of the nicest looking “dark” colour pictures I have seen for a while. What colour is this (hopefully not black?)

Black. But least does show what a PTS midnight blue might look like more of the time then black will. But I agree, the dark colours and Alu wheels are a very nice combination.

Glad I went chalk now, its surprising to see number of GT silvers and Black cars ordered. At little bit disproportionate to the standard GT3 colour votes as chalk was as popular as GT silver etc..

these mesh grills have an historical connection to the original 911R.

Nice to finally see a red one (albeit CR not GR) and with Touring black package. Gives me a better idea of what mine will look like although I have gone for silver wheels.
