My dealer, one of the biggest in the UK, said they are only getting one vs 4 GT2s. I don’t know if this is true but wanted to report in.

When I think of what makes the 981 Spyder great.. that beautiful humped shape, open roof.. and I think of what makes the gt3 great.. the engine.. then the Speedster emerges as the perfect car. Unless... they give the 718 Spyder the 4.0 engine in which case the allure of spending $200k for the Speedater vs $100k for the Spyder mostly goes away.

I don't consider residual/future values as part of my equation.. I would put all the miles on either like I have on previous cars.

Also.. total dreamer comment.. after seeing a beautiful viper green gt3 at Smokies this weekend.. I would love next spyder or Speedster in Viper Green.. was BY FAR my favorite color off all the cars there. As they say, pictures simply don't do it justice.. it looks completely different in real life.

Do dealers actually have any allocations yet? Any timeline known? Thanks!

some say around 1900 cars being built but this number seems high to me as my dealer said they will get only one

Yes, I was just wondering if any allocations are actually dispatched, since someone mentioned their dealer had only one. Thanks.

that's what most of them said, before they got 4 or more GT2RS!
'the list' helps other sales in the meantime...

^^ right.

but lets see if they make the R´ror again.
4.0 speedster is feeling for me as special as the R was.
and i think there will be no "touring" possible for the speedster to alleviate.

Everyone needs to chill. If they are making 1948 examples, that means there will be 1030 to go around for the non-918 guys. Plenty of cars to go around!

The only peope who are 'guaranteed' a car are the US 918 owners, who kept 918 for 3 years minimum. What's that 200-250 cars?
Everyone else is relying on allocation process. Personally, a Speedster not my thing, so totally chilled!

If the Speedster is guaranteed to lose 30%-40% of it's value in a couple years like a Mclaren, would there still be a 1030 buyers in the world? Actually let's call it 1700 buyers on top of the 240 or so North American 918 VIPs.

I think a lot of the flippers will wait for the Speedster RS.

Yes, 356 units worldwide of 997, so not even 20% of the numbers this time round.

If it’s a convertible 4.0 gt3 with retro and cool styling demand will be massive.

You can’t compare that to the 997 version.

I sure as hell want one!
