Just curious,
do these tow hooks hit the bumper or do they lock at 90 degrees to stop them hitting the bumper?

^ They don't lock but you can tighten them to prevent from flopping around. You can also put a small piece of tape behind the bottom of the ring to be sure.

Some come with a small round rubber bumper that sticks to the back. You could probably get one at local hardware or supplies store. It is along the lines of the little bumpers you may have on your kitchen cabinet doors.

The RSS stops at 90 degrees. The rennline does not (and in general rotates more easily) but they include the little bumper for the back that C2Spin references. There is a second version of the rennline hook but haven't seen that one in person.

OP mentioned fabric straps and though I do have 2 of the RSS folders, for my RS I ordered the PMNA straps from Eric at SupremePower, about $100 each last Summer.

Tried to put the Rennline tow hooks from the .1 GT3 today on the .2 GT3 and it didn’t work. I think there a slight difference. Anyone have experience with this?

Yup. Same here. I added some spacers (about 1/2" worth) to get it threaded deep enough to tighten and so the hook did not rub on bumper.

Ordered the 991.2 GT3 Tow Hook from Rennline last week.

Got it last Friday and it's too short as well. Notified them and they are aware of the issue (even with the 991.2 version they are selling).

They are in production right now manufacturing a new shaft to help resolve the issue and will be sending me a new one soon.

I have just received the same tow hook but my car is not here yet. Can you just add one more spacer in there or will the screw be too short to reach the shaft?

Screw would be too short with only 4 or so threads holding.

Hope to hear back from them soon.

I called Rennline about 2 month ago regarding this issue and they put me on the list for updated longer shaft. Hasn't heard from them since. Have you received the updated parts?

I did receive it late last week just in time for this past weekend's Sebring event. Had to use the long spacer on it and went to local Ace Hardware to buy a new stainless bolt and cut to length.

Thanks, I will give them a call. So you are saying the new shaft still requires more spacer and longer screw to fit? Here is a pic of what i have now, which spacer are you using?

I had the same problem. Could not use enough spacers to prevent the Rennline hook going too deep in the bumper. I use the factory tow hook in the frunk on the .2. Intend to buy a new Rennline for the .2 GT3RS when it arrives.

If you use those two spacers, you should be good with the new shaft.
