Improved tire compound
Definitely not aero, the GT3 and RS produce negligible aero (compared to performante or viper)

Same tarmac when Manthey Racing ran their RS and Porsche ran the stock .2 3, only 2 seconds difference(7.10 RS- 7.12 .2 3) but the MR rs has more areo than stock, different suspension etc. etc. This leads me to believe stock for stock the .2 3 will be faster with them both using the same newer compound MPSC2.

This thread is getting OLD - Who cares????
When the .2 RS comes out there will be no arguments. -RS will be King again and every one can stop taking their measurements.
And I have no interest in RS but it is what it is.

I got a new GT3 manual a couple weeks ago and drove my 991 GT3RS today after spending all my time with the new 3. Wow is the RS different, it is so much louder and rougher. The 3 seems so much more refined and quiet. No vibrations or drivetrain clunking. The RS is so much more than the specs, it’s substantially more fun. I love it.

rosenbergendo, did u notice that the 991.2 gt3 is even more refined than the 991.1 gt3? Makes me concerned the 991.2rs will be less angry. The 991.1rs was JUST BARELY raw enough to peak my interest.

Interesting observations. My friends that have driven/owned the .1 GT3 and .1 GT3 RS have said the .2 GT3 is a better car. They said the exhaust is louder stock and there is less sound deadening. Also that the engine pulls harder and has way more torque down low. I'm getting a manual so it makes no difference to me, but between a 991.1 GT3 RS and a 991.2 GT3 in pdk, it would be a difficult choice.

I spent a full day tracking a .2 GT3 PDK with PCCB back to back with a .1 GT3RS at MSR Houston.
We raced from 50-165, the .2 GT3 pulled about 3-4 car lengths...The .1 GT3 RS has a dunden catless race header and akrapovic exhaust.
Handling/grip/road feel wasnt exactly compariable, the GT3RS was fitted with pirelli trofeos, which are an improvement over the stock Cup2's. The RS was able to produce a better lap time, mostly due to the tires, but also that I was a little easier on the .2 GT3 (it had 300 miles)
Overall, I think the .2 GT3 is AS GOOD of a car as the .1 GT3RS. I think the transmission shifts more quickly and more smoothly in the .2 GT3, and I think the engine is as torquey, and pulls even harder on the top end (as evident when we raced).
I am excited to get my .2 GT3 PDK

I think this is a reflection of the huge wing on the RS - really cuts into straight-line performance (but it works, as evidenced in the faster lap time).
