Default How much performance is lost in the GT3T?

.....without the wing? Obviously on a track the wing will help and balance the whole package, but how about for street use? Do the lack of the air scoops under the wing mean less air at speed to the 'Touring' engine? I would think, as with the R that Porsche has tried to make the package as good as possible. Has anyone done an analysis or does Porsche have any comment on this? I wonder how much slower the GT3T would be around the Nurburgring.

Honestly if almost anyone on this forum would be able to tell the difference, or provide data showing difference in speed lap to lap on a regular length track...I'd be pretty surprised. If you're running at the top of class in PCA clubracing and or run in a series and are able to drive a 911 at a legitimate 10/10ths...maybe (so I guess there are a few of you guys), but honestly go with the one you like the aesthetic of if you're sold on manual.

Maybe the top end will be a bit weaker, but it will be counterbalanced by less weight, less drag, less drivetrain loss.
Plus, when the wing is deployed, I would guess an air swirl will happen, given the angle of the wing and it's positioning, so in the end, I would expect for the 991 T to be faster (and still have a strong top end) than the gt3.

It probably loses more performance by coming with a manual versus any performance lost due to aero.

Obviously “performance” will be less with a MT than a PDK. But since you can get the wing and MT it’s a completely different question.

Supposedly Porsche says the ram air effect of the scoops adds a double digit HP (or equivalent) I think the guy said 20 or more but I’m too lazy to find and rewatch the vid. But it was a substantial number. Whatever it is, I can’t see the grill on the touring doing anything even close.

Weight will be extremely negligible for top end, so that leaves drag. I assume the touring will be as drag, but it’s Wing I think makes more downforce than a garden variety S/GTS active aero so how much were talking no one knows.

I could def feel a diff between the 3 and the RS, the stability of the aero is signif not just from the wider rear end but really in cornering speed and especially with the front end aero. I would be surprised if the feel of the car doesn't change especially with stability in high speed corners. On Track, of course, on the street prb won't feel a thing and that's why I bought one, for me manual on the street is just more fun. On the track the aero is just too important that with the pdk

When I see "Touring" I don't think track times.

I think back road comfort and fun.

I agree and glad to have them side by side, but I am interested to see how diff it is on the track. I really look forward to having each and trying them back to back to really see a difference

I think the average GT3 non-touring owner is going to have a much easier time finding a shelf/place to put their coffee at "Cars and Coffee."

Probably attract young dudes with wing and older dudes without wing.
