See below for a few interesting points learned from 000 Magazine Issue 001 and during Monterey Car Week, 2017. There is in fact a difference between "pepita" and "houndstooth" (not to mention the crossed-up names of "Lightweight Bucket Seats" found in the 918 Spyder and "Full Bucket Seats" offered on 991-I, 991-II, and 982).

From 000 Magazine issue 001.

I think the difference I see is "restoration" versus "looks". Both are quality and its the application intended. $2k is restoration pricing IMHO.

But at the same token I wouldn't spend that kind of ADM since my supply of "stupid money" is controlled by my CFO.

Same, I'd subscribe if it was offered as a decent group buy.

I'd be up for a group buy for the LWBS in my 981 Spyder, provided I could get a match for my classic int.

Default A Great Alternative

I got a set from P1Designs.com Pricing is much better and they look great. They also have seat inserts available for the 996 GT2/GT3, and the 997 GT2/GT3.

My GT4.

My friend's yellow GT4

P1Designs.com - Black/White Houndstooth seat inserts for 996 GT2/GT3 carbon seats in a 997 GT3.

Wrong side of the pond for most of you guys but I just had a set supplied and fitted by “visualfx” on here. Beautifully made and easy took 10 mins to swap over. The material is classic merino wool houndstooth and looks fantastic. Very well priced too.
