The German car magazine Sportauto just released a video of an onboard lap showing a 7:09,59min with a GT3 RS modified by Manthey-Racing.

Jesus that's quick on some old Cup 2's. Imagine how fast it would be on some Cup 2.2's or Trofeo-R's.....

N2 CUP2?

The video says N0, that is the Eco 918 version, no?...

Or is this all down to just the Manthey package with N1 CUP2's and one hell of a driver?

I am willing to bet a stock RS will go under 7:10 with the new GT3's N'1 Cups.

i think 6:59 is doable with trofeo R and more tweaks =D Anyone else notice the suspension making creaking noises when going over large bumps it was especially apparent in the karousel sounded like maybe there was a spring or bolt joint or damper issue?

Sounded like the cage, not suspension.

You are right, the noise is created by the shocks used in that car.
They are similar to the ones being used in the GT3 R race car, just with a different setup in terms of springs and shock forces.
That's not a shock failure but the valve technology being used to allow this performance creates those noises of high speed oil flow.

If you take a look at the following video you will notice this noise as well while Sven Müller is racing a GT3 R car during a VLN race at the Ring.

Greetings Michael
