Although I've always been a manual transmission guy, the PDK suits the gt3 so well in so many ways. I love the popping sound it makes when u shift gears (would not have that with the manual). I'm also influenced a little by watching auto racing my whole life and previously doing some myself (all paddle shift - F1, Indy car, IMSA,etc). Since I ordered my car exactly how I wanted it and I'm not missing a manual, I'll stick with what I have!

I built my 991 exactly as I want (except no PTS). My 991.1 sees primarily track usage. I secured a 991.2 allocation because of fears of engine longevity. I am sticking with PDK. Also, my 991.2 PTS request is pending. Now with the success of the COG (10yr/120k) and PTS cost $12,830 I am VERY undecided. I feel it is unwise to proceed with my 991.2 order despite the allure. I am unable to afford both.1 and .2 and I don't like to waste money on items other than brakes and tires.

... and with a good alignment and Trofeo's add more grip than you get with the added aero from the .2 body changes. That could get the .1 to the performance level of the .2. It would cost me a few thousand bucks...but selling/trading the .1 for the .2 is more like a $30-$40k financial hit.
Cheers.

Since Porsche and the COG have eased any concerns over the engine issue........there really are less reasons to be wanting the .2 GT3, unless you desire the MT, or have to have the latest version. This could have been a sneaky way for Porsche to "hook" more enthusiasts into their brand. Now, everyone driving one can truly enjoy the awesomeness that the 991.1 GT3 really is.....without the uneasy feeling of needing to dump the car out of warranty. And this may leave more open slots for new Porsche GT guys to get one. No doubt the values of the .1 GT3 will maintain. With the newer cars costing more combined with the long term engine warranty......I see CPO cars at dealers getting to within 5-10k of their MSRP.....and since that MSRP was lower....you will see them sell....not sit on lots. Just an opinion of course.

If I spec'd and bought my .1 new(bought mine used), I would absolutely keep it. I want my own "new" car, my spec/build and that is one out of the 2 reasons for jumping into a .2. Reason number 2 is just my opinion/thought. Since times are changing so rapidly with speed and performance on sports/super cars today, I really can't see Porsche not going with a turbo in the next 992 GT3 to stay relevant/competitive. If this will happen, the .2 might be the last NA GT3. Like I said, just my thoughts and opinion on that issue.

Curious, how many miles have you put on the car?
