More video of the apex unit in action. I'm trying out sticky tires for the first time, so the unit did help convince me in some of the corners that there was more grip available

1:57 in a mostly stock car is very impressive!!!!
Do I see that right that the APEX thought you could have taken turn 8 faster?

Yeah, I screwed up t8. I added a little too much throttle and lost traction. That screw up costed me a 1:56. Next time!

Anybody had any issues wtih the bluetooth connection?
I'm out at Sebring for the PCA club race. Picked an apex up today to experiment with it. I'm using a Pixel 2xl and can't seem to maintain a bluetooth connection...
Suggestions?

Last I head the Android App was not developed and they were working on a new one with no timetable to release. Their focus so far has been on the iOS app.

Here's a few laps at Thermal with the Apex Pro. I find the heat maps very useful as a part of immediate post session review. Allows me to go out next session and push it harder in the red and orange spots.

BTW, the Apex Pro App is now crashing when trying to view the heat maps. I updated to iOS 11.2.5 and installed the updated Apex Pro. Hopefully they get this fixed fast!

Had a chance to use my friends Apex. How does the apex score get impacted by straightaways? I’m at Sebring and the long straights are filled with orange and red. I’m flat out and there’s nothing I can do about those sections. Will this mean the maximum apex score attainable at Sebring will be lower than it would be at other tracks?
I also notice that in some corners the heat map has drop outs where I’ll go from 99-100% apex score down to 0 or 1 and then the data immediately goes back to 99-100%. It seems like the data feed is dropping in these portions. Or maybe I’m exceeding the limit?
Last question: Is the apex score independent of lap time? My friend turned a 2:33 lap and had an 80%. My 2:25 lap was a 77%. No idea how to interprete that.

I think I can answer that one:
My understanding is that the score basically determines how much you get out of what the car is capable of.
Meaning a Miata which is 15 sec slower than you might get a better score than you

I met one of the founders from Apex Pro at AMP this weekend. We went for a 15 minute session and he explained to me how it worked and how to use it. Once I got the hang of it in the first few laps and I was new to AMP I immediately started pushing the areas where I was leaving grip on the table. It was amazing and simple. I immediately bought one of the spot and used it for the rest of the day. What an amazing gadget!
I stuck the plate on the plastic next to my dash wart, fits great and is locked in without having any flex from a window mount. He says the adhesive will come off easily.
I would recommend it for anybody wanting to simply see where they can push just a little bit more. I can't wait to take it to watkins and VIR in a few weeks.

I tried it at Sebring a few months back... Ended up in returning it. It's probably an awesome tool if you're new and still have a lot to learn. However... If you have a lot of experience, I wouldn't expect this thing to get you that extra second or two a pro can pull off.
I tried it in pro mode and it was showing me maxed out on every single corner. Nice ego stroke but a little frustrating as I'm kind of new to this particular car and I know there is plenty of time left on the table. Had a pro take my car out on the same day and he easily shaved 3 seconds off my best time.
I immediately returned the Apex LOL
I stand by my opinion that if you're a novice, it's probably a great tool to get you to start pressing the limits of your driving ability.
