As a result, dealers for a couple of years have recommended to Porsche that they keep increasing the PTS charge (they recommended $15,000) to discourage customers from ordering PTS. Their other option was to invest in more painting booths/lines to accommodate all the request. Porsche was not keen on that idea.

I think we have finally arrived at the point for the first time in 10 years where Porsche is creating depreciation as deemed normal in the rest of the industry.

They aren't in the business of giving guys literally "a free ride" anymore, only to have owners try and sell after a year of driving with sales tax and PPF added to the asking price
Those days are coming to an end. Hopefully weeds out the men from the boys.

That is Officially NUTS. I am sticking with the free Carrara White and minimal options....MSRP $156k. All the performance stuff is included - the vast majority of options are subjective fluffy stuff.

How many threads here on PTS? Demand created by people asking for it, well now they got it. Bet Porsche doesn't say no this time around.

If that is a fact, no chance. What a waste however from a pure economic standpoint if you happen to get a PTS color in high demand and limited run I bet you make it back.

Excellent news. Hopefully this takes some of the froth out of the market and cuts down on the people asking things like "IF I BUY A PTS GT3 AM I GUARANTEED NOT 2 LOSE MONEY??"
