Just my two cents, Sport Chrono and PASM are nice to have then again the S will have more performance and higher value if you ever decide to trade or sell. It's really a personal choice only you can make. Seven hundred miles is nearly new but sometimes company cars can be driven robustly, check the tire wear for clues.
Lowest mileage is always a key consideration but you wouldn't be the first Porsche owner to buy a base only to quickly get S envy. If you can drive them both, pay close attention to how you like "sport plus" , I'm almost always in that PDK mode. Someone else with a Cayman would have to weigh in here about their experiences but IMO the S would still be much quicker even without sport plus. Lastly a lot of the options on the base are not performance minded so to me paying more for them would be unattractive. Don't forget to contrast the warranty coverage just for the heck of it. Good luck!

The S is way overpriced. Try $50k.

Just my two cents, to say company provided cars are driven "robustly" is as polite as I can type it. My pal works for Hyundai and gets a new car what seems like every two weeks. He tries to be gentle yet still whips the thing harder than I would consider driving my Ford! I'm also a big advocate of lower miles in side by side comparisons. On top of that the non company car is a S and not far off the asking price of the other. I'd bid on the S. As for a fair price, you can always come up! If they know you are serious about it they should not be insulted if you start low, good luck!

I responded to another thread on "Any Regrets With the Base" but to add a couple of other things.
1. The power is the Base is PERFECT for ripping around the city. I drive it mainly in PDK manual mode. I love winding it out and not going break-neck speeds in tight urban settings. As for out in the local hills I cannot say as yet. It'll need to warm up before I get out and up through those.
2. I turned down 20" wheels on an S as they seemed much harsher on city roads and tended to grab and yaw (twist) the car during the test drive.

I agree. Maybe not $50K asking, but it def seems high. Big premium being put on the low miles.
Honestly I don't like either deal. If I wanted a used Cayman S I'd do a nationwide search. There are many CPO for sale at P-dealers. Out of state transactions with a P-dealer are a breeze. I've done many.

Just did a nationwide search on cars.com for certified/S/under 20k and the lowest price is $54,981. You can always ship a car as location matters quite a bit, for instance the cheapest Black S near me is $59k.

Five months ago I sold my 2014 Cayman S, black/black $90k spec, very desirable build, 8k miles, no issues. I got $54k for it and there wasn't a ton of demand. Paying $59k for a $79k build 981 seems crazy to me. Definitely a dealer premium in that price and it better be CPO at that price.

Cars.com asking prices are meaningless. Those Caymans won't sell anywhere near the typical inflated asking price on a site like that. Only thing worse is Crackhead's List.

All those sites overprice the cars, doesn't matter what it is, KBB, NADA, etc. Of course dealers price the cars high because they only need one person to walk in that swallows the hook.

So the value of your car dropped $36k in less than 3 years. Wow!!!

56.5ish private (if it had CPO) and throw some money on that for dealer profit, doesn't seem that out of line to me.
