Default My boxster 987 video review

Merry Christmas all,

Thought I'd share a video I made on my 987 Boxster S. It's a very nice Boxster with PCCBs and a nice spec. Hope you enjoy it. Please leave comments on the video.

What I really like about your video is how personal you made it. You stated clearly why you picked the 987 and especially, what you liked about that specific car. I agree I have never seen a Boxster specked quite like that; a nice combination of comfort, luxury and performance.
And it sounds like your 911 is not a typical 911. Keep shifting ...

Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah my 911 is far from standard. I have some more vids on my youtube channel eSysman about my 911 and the build that is being carried out on it.

Good video. Thank you for sharing.

Question about you not liking the 718. Is it just the sound difference from the 981 you don't like? I've owned a 00 'S', 07 Base, 981 Base, and now a 05 'S'. The 981 really was a precision tool, putting aside the sound of the 718, I can only imagine the extra torque is just a blessing. I suppose I should drive one tomorrow.

Side question, you test drove a Macan Diesel did you say? How was it compare to the Macan 'S'? I have a Cayenne Diesel and was so hoping we would get the Macan D here in the states...so much for that wish now .

The sound was the biggest thing I didn't like but there were also styling issues. I didn't like the rear black trim with PORSCHE written on it, I thought it looked like something someone would make in their garage. I didn't like the rear sold black plastic defused either. Inside the interior plastics felt cheap, the steering wheel was plastic and felt cheap as well. The Sport steering wheel in the 981 is made from alloy. And on the car I drove when I put the roof down there was a rattle right behind my head which just made the car feel cheap.

The Macan was excellent. Doesn't drive like a Cayenne, drives more like a sports car. Very impressed with it especially in sport+ mode. It was also fast as well, considering its size and relatively low power compared to other models, it really moved when you put your foot down. I hear they are releasing a 2.0L four pot version in the US, as I know the Diesel is not as popular is in Europe.

I will say though, the intro part that I did watch, looked to be very nicely done.

Let me pile on with the congrats for a job very well done

"Heated seats for a convertible should be the law."

I tend to agree and they're the one and only thing I miss on my Spyder.
