By the way, I know Porsche has regulations as to which cars can be certified. It seems to me that a car with a repair bill of over half the MSRP of the vehicle probably wouldn't qualify. Yet here it is.......

Is this the 2016 red spyder for $92k+? It shows a clean carfax and I was about to go up to $92k about a month ago. They had it offered at $94k+ at the time and talked it up as a cpo and never mentioned anything about it having an accident. I always thought to be CPO it can't have any metal work. I got the feeling for some reason the salesman didn't take me seriously that I was ready to buy the car and never got back to me when I offered $91.5k thinking I would go up to $92k to close the deal. In the end it all worked out. Ended up with a sapphire blue Spyder with sport buckets and PCCB instead.

Hate to say it but yeah, that's the car. My experience with the dealer was really good and professional. They were very honest. Hopefully it will make someone a great car at a fair price, but not me.

I didn't see the receipt for the repair work, but what they told me was an amount that was over half the price of a nicely equipped Spyder. I was thinking it might be $5000 or $10000. Much, much more according to them.

Accident cars can be CPO'd. Cut off is 3 body panels. Repair/respray more then no CPO.
It's really a shame that a new Spyder like that was damaged, but it didn't necessarily had to have been a real major damage if the car was repaired properly at a Porsche Certified body shop. You'll be surprised at how EXPENSIVE repairing newer Porsches can be. What could be a $2,000-$3,000 repair in a cheap car will quickly become $20,000-$30,000 in a newer Porsche. Things can easily go over $40,000 even if it wasn't severe enough for frame damage, etc.

That's crazy. I'd be really pissed off if I bought that car. The carfax they posted in the ad shows no accidents and they're selling it as a CPO. It's also priced as if it's a clean no accident car. To me it seems like they're not being completely honest.
