John - I can only speak for myself, but would assume several people may be interested in "overlay" dynos of:

stock vs sport headers with PSE vs race headers with PSE vs sport + valvetronic vs race + valvetronic

I know this sounds like a lot of work, but certainly dynos have been done with most (if not all) of these combinations... so it's just a matter of pulling the data for the combinations you have, and creating the overlay. In order to make an informed purchase decision, it would be interesting to see the gains and improvements at each level... and balance of noise vs performance.

Again, I can only speak for myself... but this data is what I happen to be tossing around in my mind, in deciding which route to take. It's more difficult to discern from separate dyno charts, especially where data ranges may not consistently match up.

Much thanks.

Hi CAlexio, nice video, thanks for posting

So you have fabspeed sports headers with the standard PSE, is that correct ??
If so, I take it in your video you were running in SP mode.
How's the sound if run SP mode, but turn off the PSE button.
How does this Compared to stock ??

Thanks

If you the car without PSE, then below 4K rpm it sounds normal, then above 4K it takes on a very beautiful howling race car sound. The transition is very smooth and the sound is loud but not offensive. Also, on downshifts, even with sport plus engaged where transmission auto blips, it's a quiet autoblip. When you have the PSE engaged then the exhaust crackles and pops from any rpm, downshifts sound like race car. Basically, fabspeed sport headers leave your car sounding stock below 4K rpm, and mild race car above 4K rpm.. As long as you shift below 4K your car is totally stock sounding.

My favorite mode is sport plus (auto blip) with exhaust off for the city... The transition from off to on with headers is beautiful. Every single 981 should have fabspeed sport headers.. It's truly a win-win.

Great explanation, thank you !!
Sounds like a great option.

What you say is very true, although typically I was say this would not be possible with the dyno data we have on file. We have dynoed near every combination of products we offer at this point over the year or so we have been doing installs at our facility. However, it is never accurate to overlay and compare graphs from different cars from different days/atmospheric conditions, especially over a period of months where we would have re-calibrated or updated the software on our dyno. To accomplish accurate graphs between product combinations to overlay would entail using the exact same vehicle on either the same day or period of days with the same atmospheric considerations. This is very difficult to accomplish given the short amount of time we have with our client's vehicles.

However, in this particular case we actually did accomplish the very graph overlays you are looking for with the original GT4 we had at our facility. We posted the pictures in our Valvetronic Exhaust product page as we felt it would be the most appropriate area for reference.

Fantastic video with a brilliant description to match! Much appreciated

Warranty should be completely unaffected with headers on your car. Here in the US you are protected by the Magnusson Moss Act to do any aftermarket additions/replacements to your vehicle, and your warranty will stay intact unless it is conclusively proven to be the cause of failure of the warrantied item. I'd be shocked if the U.K. didn't have something along these lines as well.

PM sent, lets connect and see what we can work out for you. We do have a special going on this month that you can take advantage of

I'd love to know what the UK situatino was. My understanding is that there is a piece of EU law called the automotive block exemption, which is pro-competition legislation broadly equivalent to Magnusson-Moss, but I think that PCGB's position on it is 'Oh really? We'll see you in court' I know I had to take my headers off for some warranty bs on the 911, but that may just have been my local dealer being incompetent, which I'm sorry to say is not news.

Don't want to derail the thread but would be interested to hear others' experiences...

It can be a bit of a "gray area" at times, but it all depends on whether or not the dealership cares enough about the automotive passion to support the aftermarket, and of course the extent of your personal relationship with the dealership as well. If they want to keep your business and loyalty, typically they help you out.

Porsche Germany is extremely strict when it comes to warranty claims.
