Default steering wheel question

Hi everyone!

I just bought a used 987.2 6 speed manual.

The funny thing is it came with a SportDesign steering wheel with gearshift paddles.

Are they removable or am I better off selling it for a normal wheel?

Thanks!

A previous owner obviously switched out the original wheel. Unless they really bother you, leave well enough alone. After all they do nothing and are just eye candy. You could probably break or cut them off but why take the chance of ruining the wheel.

This is tangential and don't mean to hijack, but (1) why in the world does Porsche sell any except the paddle shift wheel at this point and (2) can a 987.2 SD wheel be fitted onto a 987.1? Probably asked and answered a lot here, but not finding anything on searches from mobile.

This is what I was wondering. My friends Jetta turbo has what looks to be a Sport round-airbag wheel on it. I was guessing that, if one actually tried it, it would probably work on a 987, for a fraction of the Stuttgart tax.
