Great story, John. Thanks for sharing!
Like you, I think for many of us it all started with our fathers' love of cars. The apple usually doesn't fall far from the tree.
Enjoy your R. Great choice!

I thought it was until i'm looking at yours...my god that thing is gorgeous! What is the official color name?
Hey to each their own, and am glad you find the perfect car for you! If your name is accurate, thank you very much for your service. You deserve your Porsche more than anyone I have met so far
Thanks! I'll take that luck and not ball it up on the track this year haha
Thanks Jean!
Much appreciated, and it was a pleasure putting in the time to do so
Thanks Phil! Calling you has been on my to-do list so lets make that happen ASAP

Hey John,
Big congrats, 987 series, yeah definitely amazing steering feel though nothing beats a non power steering air cooled Carrera imho. The 987 Cayman has that real curvy 246 Dino like thing going on and the R is definitely the hot setup. Very few made, I think a future classic.
I'm not familiar with the exhaust note on the R but if it's anything like the standard Porsche setup I would highly recommend you look into the fabspeed exhaust and headers. On my 981S it was transformative. Really helped take a great car to the next level. And the folks at Fabspeed are very customer centric too. You won't be dissapointed
Seriously though, enjoy it Good to have you as a fellow Porsche owner

Oh I am, even in the wet all week it is predictable and fun to whip the back end out haha
Agreed! The steering feel is just superb, and the rotation is so spot on at the limit.
Starting to feel like the Joker haha
Thanks so much, and it all started with driving our Spyder that you seem to have a spitting imagine of haha. Superb car!

Also good call on the air cooled 911s and the Dino look. I never thought about it that way but you are spot on. We will have to get together this season and go cruise about or hit a track day
