Non-metallic vs metallic paint. Why doesn't Porsche offer more non metallic choices?

Maybe I'm in the minority opinion but I typically much prefer non-metallic paint. It seems crazy there isn't at least a choice of non-metallic blue, green and orange to join black, red, yellow, and white

Same here. Much prefer non metallic paint, with only a few exceptions. To me, metallic says luxury, flat says sporty. But that's just my opinion. Big exception are the silvers though. That's the one color I think looks really sporty in metallic form.

I suppose it is because metallic paints project more "depth" to the paint job and that is usually appealing to most purchasers, especially appropriate for high priced automobiles.
That said, I think it would be nice to see certain colors in non-metallic, and the three colors listed in OP's thread are appropriate (blue, green, and orange).
In particular I would like to see more color options in green (metallic and non-metallic both) - although I suspect I am in the minority in this.

I'm a metallic fan but do like some of the flat colors. Spyder buyers got the shaft with very limited color choices for flat lovers.
I'll be curious if the 981.2 mimics the new 911 palette- 7 flat (Miami and Lava orange !) and 8 metallics.
I do agree with ir fuel though..Most buyers don't choose colors outside of white, silver, black and Porsche is going to go with what sells.

I love non-metallic colors too. When I did the Porsche Group, everyone said the same thing so they definitely know this now. I remember when metallic was "special" but now it's rather common and looks cheap to me, and non-metallic seems special to me; however, for metallic colors like silver and gold then metallic flakes are essential in my opinion.

I'd love to see more choice of flat colours. I went with Guards Red as it just looks so good, but i'd have taken Riviera/Voodoo like a shot or even that beautiful classic dark green. However only available as PTS - which in the UK effectively means 'not available'. Porsche are not alone in offering rubbish colour choices - but that is no excuse!

Capacity for the ability for the choices of paint. Who know's maybe on threr days out of the week they spray metallic and only a limited number at that, not all the Metallic's! Manufacturing Management really opened my eye's on what goes on, and why, behind the scene's where and when "Things" are made.
