Default Brake pads recommendation

Hey,
So far i've been using Ferrodo DS-2500 brake pads and i'm pretty happy with them.
I'm actually a [too] heavy braker but with SS lines, RBF 600, and bigger brake ducts at the front+rear i'm not getting significant fade.

It seems to me that DS2500 feels a bit soft.
But noise/dust/rotor wear/pad wear/price are good.

Any other pad that i should try?

The car is used 95% for the aggressive canyon driving.
Some times Auto-X - so coldish performance is required.

Full race or track pads seems to me like overkill.

Thanks !!!!

Iw oluld consider stepping up to Ferodo DS1.11 or PFC 08 compound or Pagid RS29.

thx for the suggestion.
i completely overlooked DS1.11.
Pagid look to me like complete overkill. Correct me i'm wrong.
PFC i'm afraid to use after i had 97 for few weeks and loved them like no other pad - but then discovered their dust got cooked into Volk wheels so badly that i never was able to clean completely.
Back to DS1.11 - they probably squeal and dust and eat rotors. and also cost twice as much.
Does it worth it?

Can somebody share their impressions on DS 1.11 / RS29 / PFC 08 in following areas:
1. brake rotor friendliness
2. cold[ish] braking (think 1st-2nd gear Auto-X)
3. amount of dust
4. dust cleaning easiness

Many thanks !!!

I've been running PFC 06 and then 08 for years. Rotor wear O.K., dust cleans up O.K. never ran AX but seem O.K. for street use. I recently tried 11 but like the release of 08 better for track use.

Bill, many thanks for the input!
Is pad life also good for 08?
I read reviews for RS29 that their high price is justified because of very long pad life.
Would you say the same for PFC08?

I've had excellent wear out of PF08 on both SC/Carreras and even on a 996 Cup. Wear is comparable to the RS29, but the PF does not fall off in performance when the pad gets below 50% of thickness. I also have had several 987 Cayman drivers even put the PF11 Compound on the rear with good results.

looks like PFC08 is a good pad.
my brakes dealer swears that they're unbearable for street use...

I'd get the 08s or the RS29s, class leaders both. Both in stock as well.

I run PFC 08 for DE days and as a weekend car. In my opinion they are a very good dual purpose pad. They only make an occasional slight noise on the street.

I've used Carbotech on multiple cars including my old 996 at Mid-Ohio. XP10 is good for track at my intermediate level. They have a street version too called Bobcat or 1521 I think. You can run their XP8 entry level track pads on the street. Mild noise on occasion but with just a little heat, they stop quickly. And super low dust, especially the 1521s, which I run on my TTS.

Nice thing is that the compounds are interchangeable on the rotors, so going from street to track pads is painless. Other brake pad companies may have this too?

Eventually i've ordered a set of Endless MX72.
Boy those are expensive
I hope they will last longer than DS2500 to justify this price.
