Default Break in period question

Hi
I got delivery of my new Cayman GTS 6 sp manual 2 weeks ago.
I have been very good following the factory recommendations for the break in period but must admit I am getting impatient with the recommended 2,000 miles.
So far I have done everything by the book but have only 500 miles on it.
Is there any real danger to the car if I speed up the process or should I remain calm?
Thank you
