Default Porsche addiction

Hi everybody!
This is my first post on the site and before I say anything else, let me admit that I am a porsche addict.
I lust after everything porsche and have owned several of them starting with a 1993 carrera rs America in 1993.
I find myself eyeing the next Porsche all the time, although I do like the classic 911s of old.
I currently own a 981 boxster s and a 997 4s.
I use the boxster as a dd and the 997 is the garage queen.
Lately, I have been enjoying the 981 platform very much.
It reminds me of the porsches of old. To me, the new 911s have grown a little too much in size, price and sophistication.
I like it so much that I have a 981 spyder on order , Dec build and am eyeing a Cayman gts/s as a dd.
What do you guys think?
Is there a cure for this or should I hire a therapist?

I'm with you on the mid engine platform praise. I also have owned a number of 911's over the years, and never thought much of the Boxster. Until I owned one. Then turned it into a race car. I also have a Spyder on order. Just an FYI, there is no cure to the Porsche addiction. I've had it bad for 30 years. :-)

I've had the addiction longer than you. I bought my first 911 in 1970, and yes they are addictive. Actually I like the 991 as much as the 981, and fully intended to replace my 997S with a 991S until I test drove a 981S. I really loved the 991S, but to me it's not worth the $35K+ premium over the price of a 981S. On the other hand if I needed a back seat I would be the proud owner of a 991S.

Oh man, I feel your pain. My name's Joe and I'm a Porsche-holic. Seriously. It's bad. I started with a 997.1 C2S, then switched to a 997.1 TT cab, then into my .2 Spyder (LOVE), now a friend's 996 in the garage and I'm seriously looking at a C2 991 as a daily driver. The Spyder will be the weekend racer. This is nuts! And we are not alone (Amar?)... Why else would someone even be on this Forum? Admit your pain guys. Come clean. Come out of the closet. It's spiritually cleansing. Whew. There - I've said it.

I don't think there is a cure. DON'T hire a therapist, you could buy some great mods instead.

No doubt Porsche's are addicting. My first taste was a 500E which was massaged by Porsche, I was so impressed with the cars handling on the twisty roads I decided I wanted an entire car made by Porsche. Two 928's followed and then the Spyder. Last year I had the pleasure of owning an early 911 and I debate all the time about getting another.

As others have suggested, skip the therapist and use the money on more Porsches! Besides, what do you think a good therapist drives.

Surely is an addiction; reading the thread confirms there is no cure.
