Interior choice changed underneath me!
Hi - I've been a lurker here for a long time. I wish my first posting were for a better reason. The quick summary is this: I ordered a Cayman GTS in May with the agate/amber interior. My SA confirms I placed the order in that configuration. Just today he sent me a copy/paste of the configuration (for a different reason), and my agate/amber interior apparently was changed by someone at the factory to the GTS interior in red - without notifying me or my SA.
Here's the full story:
I placed an order for my first Porsche, a Cayman GTS, back on May 8th. This is through one of the larger dealers in the SF bay area, and through one of the SAs that people generally seem to have had a good experience with.
I didn't really want the GTS interior - my current 370Z interior is mostly black leather + something alcantara-like, with white deviated stitching, and I wanted something a lot different. I also thought the black interior was just a bit drab in conjunction with the DBM exterior.
I ordered and had confirmed the agate/amber interior. My SA noted that most of the interior choices, including that one, were being discontinued at the end of July, but that my build wouldn't have any issues since it would be done by then (since I'm picking it up for ED in Sept, and the factory is pretty much closed in August.) He sent me an email with a copy/paste of the build from his system, and asked me to confirm the build was as I expected. The build was correct and I signed off on it.
A few days ago, as part of my obsessive/compulsive behavior, I was looking at my config again, and I noticed there was a few hundred dollar price discrepancy between the configurator and my Excel calculation for the exact same options. I sent my comparison to my SA, who responded with the current prices shown on my build in his system, and I noticed my Agate/Amber interior (plus ventilated seats, carbon fiber center console + trim, white dials, and white Sport Chronoicon) was gone and replaced with the GTS interior in red!
The SA says he hadn't noticed these changes until I pointed them out, and he's "pissed" and has calls into people at Porsche. He says it shows the car's build has been rescheduled 8 times, probably while they were sorting out the interior items, and that the changes to the order were done by the factory itself. He's looking into it but doesn't think he'll have any responses till early next week. He will do "everything in his power" to get me agate/amber, but I'm not feeling a lot of confidence here.
I'm pretty pissed. If I hadn't been OCD about something and gotten a recent build sheet from him, it would have been quite a surprise when I picked my car up in September!
It looks like agate/luxor is the only 2 tone option available. I didn't love the luxor when I saw it - I really liked how the amber popped with the DBM exterior I've ordered. I'm really going to have to think about what interior I want, if I even have a choice in it at this point!
Pretty disappointed right now in my first Porsche ordering experience, I admit.

Thanks for the replies. We'll see what I learn this week. I don't want to settle, but I also feel like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place - I've already arranged my ED trip with a bunch of friends, plus I really want the current gen GTS (and it seems like all GTS allocations are pretty much gone) - so canceling this order would really be painful.
