Default which one would you choose?

Which car would you choose?
Both cars have similar tech configs with the 09 having the bluetooth as the bonus

08 boxster $42,000 CAD
- 22,900 miles
- CPO
- Auto

09 boxster $45,500 CAD
- 31,600
- CPO
- PDK

obviously given the small price difference, the main point of this question is even though its $3000 cheaper, how many people would roll the dice on the cheaper and less milage 08 car? please also state your reason

Agreed. It was a mistake to even offer a Tiptronic car for sale when they knew the PDK was in development.

PDK is a far superior automatic transmission. Wouldn't think of a tiptronic.

The last generation of Tiptronic was a great transmission, but the PDK is better.
Also, the '09 base model received a larger engine (2.9L) vs the '08's 2.7L.
And of course there is no IMSB problem with the new '09+ engines.
Hard to lose either way though as they both seem low mile and are CPOed.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would take a tiptronic over PDK. Now manual vs PDK...

LOL!
There is a guy on the 996 and 997 forums who is claiming he is glad he bought a tiptronic rather than the "extremely complicated and trouble-prone" PDK.
Whether or not he is in his right mind is a topic of debate from time to time.

you are right about PDK but the base Boxster did not get the DFI engine only the "S" HOWEVER the base engine did get an improved oiling system ( the same one the DFI engines got). Additionally the 2.9 engine in the '09 and on 987 boxsters and Caymans is a rock solid engine with very good performance.

PDK over the tip is all that matters, it's worth it no questions asked. If it doesn't have sport chrono, have it added after the fact and then you'll really see why the PDK is the trans to have.
