Update
I did two more track days since the last update. I finally finished off my brake pads (PFC 11 front and rear) after 11 track days. I estimate roughly about 1500 track miles. I have 5500 miles total now after a year of ownership.

Of note, I boiled my brake fluid at the June track day where temp at Thunderhill reached 113 F. I thought maybe it was just the hot weather so I came home and did a complete flush of the brake fluids with more Motul 600.

I went to MRLS about a month ago and boiled my brake fluid again after three sessions. My conclusion is that perhaps I didn't have enough brake pads... sure enough.. I had about 4mm left both front and rear

I replaced the pads with Ferodo DS0.1 from Apex Performance- Thanks to Clark for his help!

I went ahead and bit the bullet and got Castro SRF and flushed my fluids again.. I hate flushing the fluid!

Default Caliper and rotors

After changing my pads, it appears that my dust boots on the caliper piston in the front and also the rear have been destroyed... I also found that some of the ceramic caps on the pistons fell off....They are usually held in place by the dust boot I think.

Default Right front

Right front Tire appears to be wearing down nicely... probably 1-2 more track days as I have had 5 on these NT01. Front camber is holding nicely!

Front rotors is suffering from a lot of heat cracks but none are catching my finger nails yet and none are going through to the edge yet... I estimate 15-20 track days on these guys

Front right caliper... no brownbos yet

Default Right rear

Rear tires are doing better than the front in terms of wear!

Rear rotors have this weird ring/grooves... see pics below. Please comment if you have seen this before. I will most likely replace these rotors this winter with some slotted one

Caliper have turned Brownbo!!!

Default Left rear

Much the same as right rear

Slight cracking around the cross drill section... not too shabby for 11 track days

Default Left front

More tire wear in the front left than right.. probably due to the track config...

Front left rotor also has more cracks

Caliper is still good!!!

Default Update on GPS PSE valve device

Update
I went to MRLS in July on a 90db day. I got black flagged the first session out with the GPS device. I figured it was overcast and slightly rainy... I asked for a sound check next time up and they only clocked me a 88db... weird

I didn't to take a chance for another black flag due to 2 strike rule. So I put on my turn away pipe.

I did not have a chance to check the GPS device again until the last session when it was sunny. No black flag.

GPS device worked well!

I did make one adjustment to the device which is to close the valve before turn 5 but open it back up way past the exit of turn 6.

If anyone is interested in the new map, please PM me

Default A fun filled session at MRLS

I had a faster lap earlier in the day 1:42.5... I didn't capture it on film so like they said, if its not on film... it didn't happen

The fastest I could muster here is 1:43....

Very entertaining laps with the blue cayman piloted by one of my buddies

It looks like you're getting coning (warping) of the rotor. See 2:29 of this video to see an example:

Floating rotors will help, as would more cooling.

Good job avoiding the blue Cayman's spin in front of you!

I have a 2008 Cayman S Sport and a BRZ that is a full on Time Attack car that I run with NASA Utah. It's kind of the opposite of what you have going on with your Cayman and BRZ. If my Cayman wasn't a numbered car, I'd have it out on the track too.

Update!
Sonoma was awesome. I switch to Ferodo DS0.1. My impression that it is much easier to modulate threshold braking and it stops just as well as the PFC 11. Only time will tell whether it will eat away the rotors?

Down side- it is a bit louder than PFC11, but still tolerable

On interesting note, like every one has said before, I am definitely using traction control to its full effect, but now it is very obvious, when the car is trying to save me... I can hear the braking it is doing for me lol!

Castro SRF made a believer out of me! It is awesome... 25min session in 100 degree heat yesterday at Sonoma! No fade, no soft pedal EVER!

Off to get new NT-01... NT-01 are awesome... they are good to the last track day! I had 6 days on these guys and the tires are just as sticky as day 1. To me performance did not degrade towards the end of life.

Good thread and thanks for taking the time. I'm interested in seeing what your track wheels look like on the car as well. And, sorry if I missed it, but is your suspension X73?
