Default Sport Mode

Other than eating more fuel and tires, is there any negative long-term impact on driving my Boxster S almost exclusively in Sport mode?

Shifting is not to lazy, not too aggressive, it's just right.

Aside from slightly reduced fuel economy and speeding tickets, nope. It really should have been the default mode straight from the factory.

Sport mode = Yes, please.

I'd have it permanently on if I could.

After starting in Sport mode all the time on my Cayman S, I've found non sport mode to be more pleasurable driving in a lot situations, particularly daily commute. Shifts are smoother, car is quieter, everything just seems to be less frenetic and you really don't lose much of any real world performance. When desired I just press the button to sport it up. If you go back and forth, you'll find that the true performance difference in typical daily driving situations is pretty minimal, it's just the sound and fury making you think it's big.

Standard mode reminds me of an old slushbox, Sport is just right for DD and I toss it in Sport+ when I want to make some noise.. like blowing by the idiots lined up in the passing lane doing 58 when the other two travel lanes are empty. She sounds just right over 5000 RPM..
