Default Boxster spyder order questions

Hello! New to the forum (long time reader, first time poster), I did a search but couldn't really find answers to a few questions I had. Emailed my dealer about ordering the Spyder just today.

Is the rear convertible window glass or is it a plastic flap?

Does the car have Auto Stop/start like others? I don't see the button in the center console.

Lastly, the brochure and order guide makes no mention of hill hold assist and automatic engine restart after stall (last manual car was a 94 A4!)

So excited! Looks like I'll be getting the car in the dead of winter in Canada

First time Porsche owner, had an Audi A4, BMW 135i Cabrio, Lexus RX (multiple generations), Toyota Tacoma for towing quad and bike!

Congrats!

You know this is not all-wheel drive right? J/K

The auto stop feature I was sure was for PDK 911's. I don't think that ever made it to the Cayman/Boxsters. I also don't recall hill assist on them either.

Everyone has said its plastic not glass on the top ( weight was the excuse ( I mean reason ))

Again congrats!

Hill Assist is likely on it, it's on my 2011 Spyder. It's not bad once you get used to it.

Rear window is plastic to reduce weight and no padding/insulation either.

Alright, I'm more considering how hard it'll be to maintain, I had a glass top window on my bimmer and it wasn't too bad.

Auto start -stop is on the boxster/cayman, so I'd imagine it's on the Spyder.
After a few months of using it, it's permanently disabled on my car (manual) It would shut off at odd times and was a hassle.

I seem recall seeing a pic of the Spyder's interior and it did not have the auto start stop button, which means no auto start stop.

CO2 emissions at 230 compared to 211 for GTS points to no auto stop start too

Without the auto start-stop does the engine restart upon stall when you engage the clutch? Not really a deal breaker for me but good to know!

Maybe no button means you can't turn it off anymore!

CO2 emissions may be higher just because of the 3.8 vs. 3.4 GTS, and not necessarily related to auto stop/start.

Please don't scare me! Really hope if it's equipped that you can turn it off.

Personally I didn't think it came with auto stop/start since I seen no mention of it anywhere - I didn't even know there was such a thing with manual cars. I think the hill- assist is just standard in most modern manual cars nowadays? I didn't even think to ask these questions so I'm glad you did.

Is there even a “Sport” button in the Spyder? If not, maybe it works the way you hope. If the car is in “Sport” mode all the time, auto start/stop will be turned off all the time

Kind of bummed I couldn't get a Spyder after all, stuck with a Cayman GTS. The plastic rear window and having experience with soft tops in the past just swayed me, I can save some money and get the next GT4 instead
