Default Blurry Windshield Glass Anyone?

So I have a strange situation with my '14 Cayman S. The lower half/third of my windshield appears to have blurry glass, as if it has orange peel. It's especially noticeable when you look toward the outside edges where the window curves. Initially I thought it might be reflection of the pebble texture on the dash, but it's not.

Any ideas? Is there a coating on our windshields that might be fuxored on mine?

Maybe it's clear coat over spray?? Try cleaning a small spot with clay and/or a razor blade. Go slowly and test only.

Already tried clay and it did nothing.

Are you wearing polarized sunglasses? They can make the tint look funky.

Thought the same thing, so took them off and it is the same. It is definitely in/on the glass itself. Gonna swing by the dealership and see if its the same on any of their cars and/or what they say.

I've seen minor distortions in windshields frequently, not just Porsche. It's not immediately obvious though and only visible at certain angles. Are you seeing these distortions very easily and from every angle or only certain angles?

Pretty easy to see, from either seat, if you look in the lower third. It's a subtle pebbling, not a major blur, but it's noticeable anytime if you look for it.

Go to the dealer and ask them to verify the condition and if needed get a new windshield. Any chance this car could have had a replacement prior to your ownership?

Unlikely, but don't know. Gonna let the dealer look at it as soon as I can get over there during the week.

Thought I'd bump this. Dealer looked at the car today and they're replacing the windshield under warranty. It appears the glass layers are not bonded correctly.

Thanks for the update! I always hate finding car problem threads and then wondering what happened in the end.
