Default New Tires for my Spyder

I'm looking to get new wheels & tires for my 997 Spyder. Pilot Sport PS2; Pilot Super Sports; Pilot Sport Cup 2; and Yokohama Advan Sport V105 or Advan Neova AD08R.

Any recommendations? Thanks for the help!

I assume you mean 987 Boxster Spyder.

I would recommend the Michelin Super Sports.

Are the PS2's available again? Last I checked on tire rack they weren't showing up.

If I had a choice I would choose the PS2's for the Spyder. The sidewalls and overall turn in are sharper from what I have been hearing and reading. If you end up with the PSS you may need to use a higher pressure to compensate for the softer feel.

Depends on what you want.

Best track/street combo tire - Sport Cup 2 (if your budget is unlimited)
Best street/track combo tire - the AD08R (the Cup2 tire is probably a bit better on the track, but costs more and wears faster)
Best for street use - PS2 or Super Sport

For my money, it would be the AD08R. YMMV and all that.

AD08r's. I have 255's upfront and 275's in back. You'll need 3mm spacers from suncoast if you use 255's upfront. I have spacers all around and now have one of the best handling cars for AX.

Thanks, guys. 2XIPA, what rims are you running to accommodate the larger tires? I have 5mm spacers on it now so it shouldn't be a problem to go a little wider

Also, has anyone upgraded their brakes? Is a 6 piston conversion up front worth the $4k?

Stock Spyder rims. Fat fingers I have 5mm spacers.

So the wider tires fit no problem on the narrower rims?

I have had no problems. Although it took my tire guy some extra effort to get the tires on the front rims if I remember correctly.

exactly this.
if you don't push your car to its limits - PSS is almost a perfect choice.
but if max grip is what you want - you need to look for other options.
