There's bound to be a couple people who get GT4s and trade them with 310 miles on them - that seems to happen with just about every model though it sounds like this Cayman will be a pretty hot item.
Unrelated: is the rear window glass or plastic?
I pretty sure it's going to be plastic.

Therein lies the problem…the 987 Spyder bucket seats I could not get comfortable in…the 981 Spyder bucket seats are suppose to offer another 1" or so in length and have a height adjustment but still no seat warmer (it's offered in other parts of the world). Even called Porsche to ask where the Spyder with buckets would be shown…no clue.

It will be interesting to see if the early Spyders have the buckets. I was under the impression that Porsche isn't able to get enough seats to meet demand and they are pushing back availability of these. A Spyder without buckets just isn't a Spyder.

It is plastic. One of the decisions I truly don't understand.

I wonder how long the plastic will remain clear, and then of course I wonder how much it will cost to replace it when it's opaque.

I wish they could get heating in those seats? I wonder why a seat that cost almost 5k is without his amenity? Is it because of the plastic?

The plastic rear window will last a long time if treated properly and not exposed to excessive sunlight.

As to the seats, there is no rhyme or reason why they could not be heated, they are available in other markets with a heating option.

Thanks again for the information - much appreciated.

I sat in the buckets in a new GT3 and didn't find them too comfortable. Since I don't plan to track the car, and struggle with a gimpy back from time to time, I will get the 18 way adjustable.

I would recommend trying the standard sports seats first, they should be easy to find in a 981 on a dealer lot to try out. Save money/weight if they work for you. And if you have back problems a seat warmer is excellent.

I did indeed drive a 2015 Cayman S with these seats and found them to be quite comfortable. My thought was if these were good, the 18 way adjustable seats would be that much better.

In my current Porsche, an 01 TT, I often get back aches on trips longer than a couple hours. I was willing to spend some $ on the better seats to maximize the chance of being able to experience my back tolerating longer trips in the Spyder. And yes the seat heaters are a given!

new spyder depreciation shouldnt be too bad... you could rock it until a GT4 came available and not take too hard of a jab...
Would be hard to let it go so early....
