Default satelite receiver getaround?

Found a low mileage base model about to put a deposit down. The VIN shows it has a Bose surround head unit, but no satelite radio receiver. For those in similar situation, how do you get around it? The service manual mentioned there's no way I can retrofit the factory XM receiver onto it. Aside from the factory receiver, can I use anything else via the auxillary port that will work with the headunit?
