Default 987.2 spyder steering wheel

so I was looking at this boxster spyder online and noticed it had a different steering wheel than the one on my spyder. can someone confirm for me if this was an option or a steering wheel from the 981 series?

Option. Could come with paddles if PDK.

Mine came from the factory, obviously could retrofit for a price (part plus labor including dealing with airbag)

I like it a lot more than the stock wheel. Pricey though.

The sport wheel became an option on later Spyders.

There were also two versions of the standard steering wheel - grey plastic spokes on earlier cars, replaced by black spokes.

Then there's the GT3 RS 4.0 upgrade. Super nice, super pricey... but with the alcantara shifter and brake handle could be pretty nice.

I'm thinking the alcantara steering wheel, ebrake and shifter would go well with my interior as I have a lot of red that needs to be broken up:

Are you thinking of getting them in black leather? You might also change your mats out for black ones.

Im working on my summer mods (exhaust, ECU Tune, carbon fiber console and mirrors) and just called SC on the Sport wheel today. I have the identical Red/charcoal interior as JVMAX (JV, you bought MY spyder the day before I called to buy it, lol).

SC told me it would be $3000 to order the Sport wheel in Red Leather vs $995 for black leather) Wow? Can I get your opinion on the $1095 Alcantara wheel Zeus included in his post? Does anyone have an Alcantera wheel? Not sure I would like the feel as well as leather? I also added Charcoal Alcantera floor mats and covered the plastic strip (white) in the dash with Alcantera to break up the red.

Sorry to hijack the thread...to put it back on point, does anyone know of another source for the sport wheel? thank you!

sounds like you were able to find another white/red car!! I recently added the PSE (sport exhuast), and just bought a set of silver spyder lightweight wheels as my car was built with the black painted heavy sport design wheels.

When I bought my spyder it was a lot harder to find white over full red leather with Sport Buckets and a 6 speed manual. I knew to make it my dream spec, I needed the factory sport exhaust and lightweight spyder wheels. The Alcantara sport steering wheel, shifter, brake handle would be icing on the cake.
