That will be a nice event. I really like AMP. Unfortunately I learned of it too late. I'm at Road Atlanta that weekend.

Well, I won't be making this event after all. I just found out I need new front brakes.
I won't have time to do them before the event since I have been traveling so much for work.

But---- It's more than two weeks away! Takes less than an hour to install a set of pads. Really should flush and bleed the fluid though. That takes a bit longer but lots of us have done both between sessions at the track. Nice Mustang BTW.

Front brakes, or just brake pads? Brake pads are really easy to DIY; you have plenty of time to order new and install them.

I know, I just won't have the time. I am gone all week, for the next 4 weeks. It is Pads and rotors, so it will take about 2 hours total. I am sure there will be other ones coming up.

The flush was done 4 months ago during the 40k mile service.

Thanks about the Mustang. I was very blessed, my Father gave it to me for my 15th birthday. 21 years later I still have it, with no plans on getting rid of it.

With my work travel I won't have time before hand. I do know it is very DIY, and plan on doing it soon. Time just isn't there right now

You could do it in paddock in about 30 minutes if you need to.

From what my instructor told me, you don't want new street tires on a track, better use worn out old tires as long as they are not too old age wise, (i.e. less than 5 years - check dot stamp for that)

Also keep in mind that tires have a break- in period. I would keep your old tires, perhaps even keep them for future DEs, and get new set fe street driving.

It's only a problem if you use tires with tall narrow treadblocks (eg, most econobox tires). Most extreme performance and max performance summer tires work just as well (or even better) at full tread.
