Morning gents, Im at the top of the list at a local dealer for the GT4 and discussion on options (or lack of) has come to whether A/C delete is a good idea or not. My GT4 will be a dedicated track car replacing my BMW E36 M3. Yes I would benefit from a few extra HP with the delete option but I'm hesitant when considering resale values or the occasional sunday morning outing.

Right now I've deleted black 19's, fire extinguisher and the radio delete. Thats it.

delete that and the radio if your tracking it. Resale will be tough anyways.

 

Kills resale IMO. The take rate on other GT cars for ac delete was insanely low 2-3%IIRC correctly.
I took it out of my M3 back in the day and the main issue wasnt cooling the car but defogging the windows on cool morning at the track without the ac to dry the air was rough.
I wouldnt recommend it

 

My sales associate said the same thing about resale and didn't recommend the option. Great idea on the defogging feature! I think I'll keep the A/C

 

A/C delete hurts resale value. With a 385+HP engine there is no reason to delete the A/C unless you plan to strip the car and do a full race build.

 

I definitely wouldn't delete A/C for the same reasons mentioned above. I wouldn't delete the radio either. Even though I think the radio is an eye-sore, it's really easy to pull out so I'm assuming purchasing the storage bin and putting it in place of the PCM would be easy enough to DIY while maintaining the resale value on the car. This isn't a 911 GT3 RS track-rat car. It's a car people will predominantly buy to use on the street.

 

Isn't this a moot point seeing as it IS a track car? Doesn't the "track car" factor alone KILL the resale, except for someone that is going to tracking it? So I would... delete it and anyone other thing that can save you weight.

 

Tim keep radio and AC. It's not a race car so makes no sense to delete those options and it will definitely affect resale value.

my P cars are non-modified track day fun cars.

when i want to go banzai, this goes out.....

CSLs are actually quite rare and valuable.. but mine is an ex-race car so dun do it unless you really never go out in it besides the track

 

A/C delete is romantic but not practical.

RS GT3 with A/C delete was great for those who intended to only track their cars but in reality those owners never stripped the cars nor tracked them. They parked them as garage queens.
I am happy my RS have both a radio and A/C and i track the hell out of my RS but I can also drive it around the city on occasion.

The GT4 is not something one should park as a garage queen in anticpation of future collectability as a full delete car. Production will be higher then GT3RS.
Full delete would be great from somebody that plans on running the car at the track in full strip in which resale will be not that great as a track ***** anyhow, but is that the plan?

In reality, a street car with A/C is more liveable and better for resale even if it is only for cars and coffee.

If the car has a title and a license plate, i want A/C.

 

I think if you are tracking it on a 90F plus day, wearing a suit, helmet you will be quite gratefull for the AC. the comfort will enable you to focus better on driving and go a second or more faster per lap on longer sessions...

Depends on intended purpose and climate. I never use AC on Sunday morning drives in So Cal, and rarely listen to the radio if pushing it...and never if the car sounds good. Never have used either on the track. Daily driving? Got to have both.

I would not worry too much about resale. It may be a bit less, but there will always be somebody looking for the lightest and/or rarest car out there.
