Default PASM Question

I'm a bit confused about what the PASM package does and how it will impact the ride on a Cayman S with 20 inch wheels. I do not intend to track the car, which will be used as a daily driver with many highway miles. Does the option allow for both firmer and less firm settings than I'd find with the standard setup and those wheels or simply something that's akin to the stock setup and something even more firm?

I think essentially the same as standard on soft, and firmer on sport. It should also give you a 1cm or so lower ride height at all times, which at least looks good!

See the above link for a comparison of PASM in a 981 to the standard suspension. I spent 4 days driving a 981 Boxster S with 20" wheels and PASM and its an amazingly versatile set up. After that we ordered our Cayman S with PASM and 20" Carrera S wheels. Good luck.

My understanding is that PASM can range from slightly softer than standard ride when off and as stiff or stiffer than sport when set to sport. I've got a 987 with PASM and 19" wheels. I think it's a must have option.

I have an '11 Boxster S as my daily driver and track car. I do about 20 DE days per year. I have PASM.

IMO PASM is valuable for the track and completely unnecessary for street use. Where are you going to drive on public roads and need the superb stock handling improved?

Sorry, disagree completely, its ideal for street use. Its not just about better handling, its also about a great ride. I had PASM in my 987S with 19" wheels, and it was good, but my 981CS on 20s with PASM gives a far better ride on rough surfaces than our 987 ever did. IMHO PASM on a 981 gives the best of both worlds great handling with an excellent ride. On roads where my 987 would be come almost jarring and lose its composure, the 981 with PASM is far more pleasant ride.
