Hi All,
I have an '07 987 Boxster base with around 41k miles. A few weeks ago,
I started noticing that I'd get around 1-4 muffled popping/gurgling noises
from the exhaust within around 2 minutes of a cold startup. Sounds like it
could be mild backfiring, but I'm not sure. This only occurs at initial
cold start... I do not hear it while driving the car. I also only notice
the popping noise if I put the top down quickly after starting the car. With
the top up, it's too quiet for me to really hear. I've been using 93 octane
fuel only in the car since I've owned it. I recently ran a bottle of techron
concentate fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system before my last
oil change thinking that may resolve the problem, but it did not.
Anyway, have others experieinced this? Is it normal? If not, does
anyone know what else could it be? Dirty air filters, or perhaps a
bad MAF sensor?
Thanks!
Chris
