After my '04 S SE suffered "the beginning of the end" engine failure mode associated with the IMS, of which I quickly dumped at wholesale, I'm now seeking a Spyder to replace it. My pricing research (Edmunds.com) indicates a CPO for around $48-$54K, the cars I'm finding are $60-62K. For that price I could get close to a '13 981 CPOd. Unfortunately not enough go through Manheim auctions to predict a wholesale/retail price. Any input on fair value would be appreciated to determine what would be a reasonable price. Thanks.

60-62 could be high, but you're looking in the summer months.
My thinking is prices are stabilizing into the 50-60 range with Spyders having the following options fetching higher prices.
- CPO
- Sports bucket seats
- MT
- PSE
- PCCB

What exact configuration are you looking for and how picky are you as far as the options you want?
As Greg noted, the Sport Bucket with Manual combo will without a doubt command a higher price because most of the dealers ordered these cars with the Sport Seats and PDK. So with low supply and higher demand for the buckets you end up with a higher price.

Options desired:
manual
sports seats (not carbon sport buckets)
heated seats
sound pkg plus
sport exhaust
red/black interior
Found one in Cleveland, they want $61K, may offer them $51K as an opener to see where it goes

I never had a problem with glare when I owned my Spyder. There are two Spyders at Jim Elllis in Atlanta, black and platinum silver. The black one had a clean interior but the paint was not well cared for...swirls and scratches. The silver had the sticker delete option so it really didn't have the Spyder look to it. And the sand beige interior was interesting. Asking prices on the cars was 59k and 62k respectively.

Yeah, I stopped in a month ago, the black one was at the detail shop, didn't get to drive it. I'm shying away from a black car to much work to keep clean.

I would think Mid 50's for what your looking for although the combo make take some time to find since PSE wasn't common. Personally I wouldn't focus too much on the PSE, it's nice and sounds awesome but IMHO it's not loud enough and an aftermarket exhaust would sound as good if not better.

PB, IMO based on the options you prefer miles, price, options, price and CPO on this car is incredible. I would have jumped on it the moment I saw it if it had SB. Even without SB I was really tempted to buy it and install the SB's at a later date.
Good Luck, I just purchased mine and am looking forward to delivery

The only saving grace is the price of the SB's keeps climbing so you should never lose money on them.
