I understand that Porsche does not make a touch up paint for the Platinum Satin finish on the Carrera S wheels. I've looked and looked online and cannot find any "exact" match. Has anyone found an aftermarket product that closely matches?

Go to any high-line dealer and talk nicely to the used car sales manager, or the detailing dept. head. He will have a very good mobile wheel refinishing service which he uses every other week, or even more. These guys are really great at making COSMETIC problems absolutely disappear, very quickly, and at a quite reasonable price. They generally work from large vans, and have the ability to match any of the ten thousand or so shades and textures of "silver" on anyone's wheels. I'm sure there are several in Houston. The DIY approach is very likely to make you drink heavily. Take your time finding a good one, and preserve your mental health.

That is good advice and I give it myself all the time . I use a guy that does all the make ready for used cars at a couple of BMW dealerships. He does great work.
This very small blemish is not worth redoing the whole wheel so just wanted to touch it up myself a little. Just being a little OCD. I have no doubt that eventually I will need to have the wheel refinished but just wanted something to tide me over. Very interesting that nobody seems to have this paint. Thanks for the response.

The paint code for the slier wheels is L-88Z it is called Brilliant Chrome Finish. One of the colors for the formula is very expensive and only BASF produces it. You will have to have a shop or supply house that carries BASF paints mix it for you.

What about Dr Color Chip? Maybe they can do one. Or ask Eric at BumperPlugs.

The Code for the Platinum Satin Matte wheels are 0B5.
I will check the formula to see who it is available through and post it also.

When I was buying some wheels from Wheel Enhancement in LA last fall, my salesman, Dave, mentioned that Porsche was prohibited from importing the paint due to toxicity. So they are unable to match the paint. He had come up with something close, I think it was a matte charcoal.
